U2 at the BBC / Abbey Road special

- It's nice to see the band so comfortable in Cat Deeley's company,but I had to skip through the interview segments.She came across as a fan who couldn't believe her luck in being chosen to front the show,but it was all very gushy and excessively enthusiastic,lacking any real insights.(Understandable though if the show's intended for a general primetime audience.)I thought she was ok in the Sao Paulo stuff,but the studio interviews were just a little awkward for me!

Thought Deeley was pretty awful,wasn't even aware she was a "fan"
The questioning was pretty scripted but there were a few nuggets in there.

I understand the band chose Cat to interview them etc,quite a coup for her.She did say she was friends with U2 but I'm sometimes sceptical about what that means.Over the years the band have made lots of acquaintances and I'd say that plenty in the industry believe themselves to be 'friends with U2'.But in truth,the band members are first and foremost friends with eachother,even now.They socialise and holiday together,as do their families.Then there'll be wider and wider circles stemming from them,but I doubt that someone like Cat would be a true friend of the band like Gavin Friday etc.
