    - Loved the song performances.Beautifully shot,no hyperactive Hamish Hamilton-esque cuts, excellent sound mix.Lovely to note how visibly starstruck the choir and orchestral musicians were, they were clearly thrilled to be part of it!
    - A full length 'U2 on tour' documentary would be fascinating.I'd have loved to see more of the Sao Paulo footage, since we rarely get those kinds of insights into the band's life on tour.(Was that Matthew McConoughey at the post-show gathering?)
    - It's nice to see the band so comfortable in Cat Deeley's company, but I had to skip through the interview segments. She came across as a fan who couldn't believe her luck in being chosen to front the show, but it was all very gushy and excessively enthusiastic, lacking any real insights.(Understandable though if the show's intended for a general primetime audience.)I thought she was ok in the Sao Paulo stuff, but the studio interviews were just a little awkward for me!
    Good summary.
Pity no full electric band EBW version but hey some great performances in there.
Thought Deeley was pretty awful, wasn't even aware she was a "fan"
The questioning was pretty scripted but there were a few nuggets in there.
Loved the behind the scenes at SP.
  2. Edge's vocal harmonies are amazing

I understand the band chose Cat to interview them etc, quite a coup for her.She did say she was friends with U2 but I'm sometimes sceptical about what that means.Over the years the band have made lots of acquaintances and I'd say that plenty in the industry believe themselves to be 'friends with U2'.But in truth, the band members are first and foremost friends with eachother, even now. They socialise and holiday together,as do their families. Then there'll be wider and wider circles stemming from them, but I doubt that someone like Cat would be a true friend of the band like Gavin Friday etc.

Should have got Dave Fanning or someone
  5. She said she met them 20 years ago, doubt it was during popmart, probably in 2000 on CDUK with Ant and Dec
  6. Yeah that's what I was thinking.I remember ATYCLB-era U2 on CDUK quite a lot.
  7. Didn’t she do a special with U2 on the Vertigo tour during the Manchester shows?
  8. Very special from u2, I enjoyed very much.. EBW, AIWIY, epic.. And love the best thing version
  9. Here's a video I've just finished from various recordings of U2 songs arranged in an acoustic or an orchestral genre. Including all the songs that have been broadcasted so far from U2 At The BBC recorded the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London.
    Enjoy.

  10. Any news and updates from our Spanish and French fellows on the broadcasts in their countries? What songs did they air? Did they cut out the interviews like in Ireland or was it the same mix like in the UK and Canada? Curious.
  11. Aussie TV showed the shortened version.

Lights of Home and LIBTAIIW were soo good.
