    3 Arena is free October 26-29 leaving a day on each side of the dates for loadin/out and SSE arena is open as well

    They couldnt get the stage from Barcelona to Dublin last summer to add the Friday night after the Rolling Stones pulled out of the third slot at Croke Park,they needed 4 days .
    Obviously they wont have as much equipment this time but its still not feasible .
    They usually have 2 stages while on tour, one for the city they're playing in and one for the city they're going next, so the set up and diassembling kind of overlap between the cities and the stage logistics and risks are reduced. Do you have any official confirmation that the band was keen on doing a 2nd Croke gig in the first place? We speculated long and hard about that additional Croker and nobody ever got any official confirmation of why it never happened.

    That is true ,they have 2 stages but its only one screen ,lighting rig and sound system I believe ,at least for the outdoor venues .
    I think its the same for indoors too.

    The reason they couldnt play a second night in Dublin is due to the 3 concert limit per year at Croke Park.
    Coldplay had one concert ,U2 had the second and the third was reserved by the Rolling Stones who later pulled out .

    By the time they pulled out in May it was too late for U2 to add the second night on the Friday as they didnt have enough time to get the truck convoy in from Barcelona on time,it arrived on Friday afternoon.
    They couldnt add the Sunday night either as they were playing the following Tuesday and Wednesday in Paris.
    Whether they ever looked at adding the second concert I dont know but I have it on good authority that they originally wanted to play 2 nights in Croke Park .

    It ended up being a complete mess and the third date in Croke Park never happened much to the chagrin of U2 and Coldplay fans .

    Doubt it. There is a concert october 25. They have to load out, U2 has to load in. Don’t think that’s possible in one day. Need 26-27 for that I think.

    Can’t see any option for october. Will be second week of november I think

    Their strategy for now is/was: 2 shows announced for cities which get 4 (Paris, Milan) and 1 show for cities that get 2 (all the others). So if that holds up... London gets 2.

    Here's another thought/possibility: U2 is already close to completing their Australiasia itinerary and for that they have to move away from Europe end of October.

    So what they'll do is announce Australia first for Nov/Dec and come back in January to Dublin & Belfast for some 'special' shows

    Why else wait with announcing?

    Strange if both London shows are midweek though.
  10. True. Some rationale seems to be missing.

    Still one theory I keep thinking of is that they have to go to Australia, already planned and no time for 4 London shows let alone Irish shows. To be moved to 2019.

    The itinerary is a bit like Zoo Tv Europe May/June 1992... one show in London (a Sunday night)
  12. Why do show have to be on the weekend? Demand is high enough to sell out two shows.. Besides, a number of towns will get midweek shows only..
