  1. Stop being that guy who comes in here trying to make everyone else look bad for pointing out that this thread is stupid by trying to say it's some kind of freedom of speech issue. I hear enough about this bullshit working at a university.

    You're not "imposing views", this thread is entirely built on a nonsense rumour that has zero credibility. It would be like starting a thread called "Bono to release solo rap album", people calling it stupid and then saying "oh I'm not allowed to speculate about Bono rapping because it's "not positive""? I mean what the hell?

    Christ. This site has too much of this crazy shit going on lately and it's getting unbearable. "Oh we're not allowed to do this because it isn't positive? Oh we're not allowed to have negative opinions?" when did U2Start become a hyper-liberal seminar that's lost common sense? I'm sick of people saying "oh guess I'm not allowed to criticize U2" when it's easy to tell that those of us who have been around here long enough are the ones who criticize the band the most. This site is rife with negative opinions, and there are those who criticize the negative opinions and then get offended when THEY get criticized, and there are those who post negative opinions and then get offended when people call THEM out. People are just getting too damn offended on this site these days. Everyone has always been free to shit on whatever they want, it just seems like recently people are getting offended by the criticism and then getting even more offended because they can't take it back.   5. It might be possible, Larry slipped a word or two to friends, we do not know that. Larry has always been the guy with bad to no expressions on his face and the one who barely smiles at all. Larry is just not the spotlight guy, and I fully understand him.

    If he would seriously stopped having fun drumming for HIS band, the BAND would sit down together and make a BAND decision. Larry would never walk out alone and say "I will retire" because he knows about that BAND thing.

    THIS is enough proof for the fact, that this "news" is fake, parody, satire, hoax.... - if anything else but "we need clicks on our useless website to earn money thru stupid ads".

    Plus - he recently drummed somewhere just for fun - and he most obvioulsy enjoyed it. If he'd had pain, he wouldn't have done it.

    In my very own opinion, U2 will never officially retire. There will come a day, they say: ok, we're quite old now, we slow down, take time off, we stop touring.
    But these guys still love what they do und they will keep doing it, until they die. They will keep writing songs, lyrics, play here or there for/with friends, maybe release a few songs or even an album. But they will NEVER "retire" by saying: Goodbye, U2 is history.
