I’m not saying I think the band will play please, they probably won’t but I think it would be better than bullet. I know most people in the audience would rather hear bullet but then I’d hate to attend a u2 show that was made up of what most attendees wanted because it would be full of songs we’ve heard over and over again. Thankfully they throw in a handful of new songs and a few non hits like October, Zooropa, to make the show interesting. I think bullet might get dropped this tour though but wouldn’t bet too much on it.
  2. I could see Bullet being played during the US gigs (given the current political climate) and dropped when they hit Europe. Exit or Please would be a great swap.
  3. Also to maybe take into consideration please was given quite an extensive run on leg 3 of elevation so that would maybe open the door to it returning at some stage. They had enough faith to stick with it right til the end of the tour. You might be able to tell I’m trying to convince myself here.

That was mainly acoustic though, it was only played in its full form once (Baltimore, I believe) – and when it was played acoustic it lost its purpose, its potency. It was just basically a nice acoustic number in the middle of the set like Staring at the Sun.

There's so many songs I want to hear U2 play live and Please is near the top of the list. Imagine that song on this stage, with the visuals they could conceive.

Would you not still take please acoustic though over hearing one of the overplayed bunch? I would prefer electric but if electric wasn’t an option I’d take acoustic. You’re right though about what they could do with the visuals in that set up.

Actually, being a song I really want to witness live, no I wouldn't. It would suck the life out of the song. You want to see for how it was recorded, not a cop-out version because they can't formulate a full band rendition. I think the only song I really want to see live that I'd settle for acoustically is Stay, because that has an intimate feel.

That’s fair, I quite like acoustic u2 so even though most songs I’d probably still prefer electric acoustic isn’t too much of a compromise for me and in some cases offers an interesting new take on the song, admittedly it wouldn’t be new for please but I’d still find the song to be of high quality. I love stay no matter what form it comes in so I would be delighted to hear that acoustic.

I think I'd be content to hear it first but then it would grind on me upon further concerts.
  9. I also wouldn't mind seeing SBS dropped for this tour along with WOWY. I think you have to play Streets every show it's just got that something special, most fans would leave with a bitter taste in their mouth not hearing Streets.

As for the others the same goes for Beautiful Day and i'd like them to keep Still Haven't Found in the set or at least played Sporadically, that song always shakes up many emotions when I hear it
  10. To be fair to the band they have suprised us in each of last few tours with a few rarities none of us talked about- eg two hearts/ mercy/ electrical storm/ october.....so i trust them to suprise us again. Really do think acrobat might be incoming if they work out how to play it.
  11. The band really need to start extending the shows GnR were doing 3-4 hours a night on a 2 year tour recently and playing minimum 35 songs nobody left feeling short changed .U2 have such an impressive back catalogue that they could easily do a 30 song setlist although highly unlikely as they seem to like the less is more approach while charging top dollar but I think they will need to take a dramatically different approach on this tour for it to work some of the old stalwards need to be given a rest and bring in some old gems such as Discoteque,The Fly ,Love is Blindness, Gloria Desire ,if the show has too much SOE and SOI it could be a disaster but usually they know how to make it work and have a balance that pleases most.

  12. Being incredibly picky: That exact guitar has only been used for Little Things, no Mofo/Zoo Station. The original one was sold for $298,000-ish
