Experience and Innocence tour
Legs (3): Promo tour, Leg 1: North America, Leg 2: Europe
Shows: 75
  1. The point about individual songs is definitely down to how the person defines ‘brought back’ in that respect I don’t want to get involved. What I will say is when you add the total amount of performances of these songs combined then it actually adds up to u2 having played a lot of obscure stuff from the past, you can use whatever terminology you want but they did play these songs again and in that respect markreed makes a good point.
  2. It has nothing to do with the "brought back" portion of the argument and everything to do with the "for the tour" portion of the argument.

Did they bring the songs back for a show? Yes.

Did they bring them back for the tour? No.
  3. The songs happened to be played while U2 were on a tour, because that's basically a given. But a tour - by definition - spans multiple dates. If the songs are not on multiple dates, it does not make sense to say they were brought back for anything other than a particular show.
  4. Well I sort of agree with both, I think with the amount of songs they played as one offs or rarely you could say collectively they brought back a few songs for the tour because that could be defined as they played these songs over the course of the tour but if you wanted to pick out an individual song like two hearts I wouldn’t say they brought it back for the tour because it wasn’t played enough to say that. It’s really not that important but that’s just the way i’d look at it and the way I’d say it but who cares, let’s all see it and say it in our own way.
  5. A sort of homecoming was bought back but only played occasionally.
  6. That is a factually correct statement, nobody can argue with that. You’ve solved the debate lol.
  7. It's a bit like the shine like stars coda in WOWY , it's out there but very exclusive
  8. I should have just left the rest of my post out and went with ‘who cares’ shouldn’t I? lol.
  9. i think I started it, and my point was that there was not that much room in the setlist of I&E for old songs. Like I said before, the opening night (and many other shows) of the Innocence tour only had 4 slots for pre Joshua Tree songs, and 3 of them were songs they've played maybe almost a thousand times. Markreed took the discussion somewhere else apparently, but that was not my point. With 8 shows in NY and 4+ shows in some other cities of course they threw in some surprises, but it's not like the Innocence theme was a big influence on the setlist. We were talking about the 'Innocence era/pre JT era', so songs like When Love Comes To Town don't even count for that. Looks like it's a bit of misunderstanding.
  10. Problem now is with all the production and video screens etc there are only certain moments the band can be semi - spontaneous
