Experience and Innocence tour
Legs (3): Promo tour, Leg 1: North America, Leg 2: Europe
Shows: 75
  1. Re-use the Wanderer. Play Numb live with the band.
  2. A wheel of fortune!?! Vegas act 2.0
  3. Any news on how GA lines will work? Will it be the same system
  4. Please no Numb. U2 have enough other songs.

In their 2012 indoor tour, MUSE had a roulette for one song each night. It went spinning and if it went black, they performed one hit (Stockholm Syndrome), if it went red, another one (New Born), and if they hit jackpot, they played a rarity & fan favorite (I remember Dead Star, Citizen Erased and a few others). Of course it was rigged from the start of the show, it wasn't actually random in situ, but I remember audience went wild and it totally worked.

I remember that! The green rarity slot was VERY rarely played (perhaps two or three times over the whole tour) and the songs were Dead Star and Micro Cuts. You're right though, even though it was pre-selected it got a big reaction from the crowd each time.

This would be great for U2 to do as well! I bet Bono would do a great job each night getting the crowd all hyped up. Imagine if they gave you the chance of Gloria, ASOH, Staring at the Sun, Exit, Stay, Zoo Station, Two Hearts and Zooropa...and that's not even going into ultra-rare territory.
  6. Sounds too gimmicky to me , maybe they will use some tech for people to vote ? Bono can then plug something else elevation partners are involved in

Totally agree, this right now reminds me off the Eno-esque production thing with the deck of cards. Like they have a wheel of songs and maybe they are rehearsing them randomly to see hot they sound?
  8. This wheel thing most likely is an inside joke to decide which one gets the tacos for lunch. We're overthinking it.
It will feel cheap as an actual prop in a U2 tour.

You're probably right that we're overthinking it.

But if it did happen, I'm not sure that feeling cheap or gimmicky is that bad of a thing. Remember the PopMart setup? Edge's karaoke slot? I get that this album and tour are not the ironic embrace of pop culture that the band was taking to the extreme in the 90s, but still...U2 can still have some fun, right?
  11. they could just play rare music instead of having to spin a roulette
  12. I would prefer Numb over many songs they regularly play... all that songs like, Pride, WOWY, COBL, Vertigo, Elevation, I Still Haven't Found, Etc...
