Experience and Innocence tour
Legs (3): Promo tour, Leg 1: North America, Leg 2: Europe
Shows: 75
  1. No The Fly

I think dropping Streets is a mistake, they've often said how important it is to a show and although it's been played to death, it's still (IMO) their greatest live song. I admit I'll be crushed if I don't hear it in October. At least rotate it with Pride.
  2. Hello all I'm on here every day looking at the discussions etc, and as I'm sure you can see I don't post much on here (maybe I will as the tour gets going) but been a fan for over 20 years now seen the guys since Zoo TV although missed elevation tour. But I'd just like to make a point and I'm sure you know this and that is whilst we always start to guess what the set list will be etc and everyone's got an ideal set list but cast your minds back to the elvation tour songs like Streets Have No Name, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Pride. These songs will never leave the band, Bond's words and I believe they will always play them at some point during a tour. And let's be honest there pretty much as good a song what is around today and they were made 30 years ago. I'd love as well every member on here for them to play the rare songs in the catalogue but wait with anticipation. Hope to see some of you on the European legs.
  3. The show is over two weeks away, it will change so much in that time. How many songs did they attempt to rehearse for I+e? They'll be playing around with songs transitioning into one another at the moment, because they put so much care into what position each song is in the set list. This doesn't necessarily mean there's going to be no JT songs. I don't think it would be a bad thing, and they maybe feel at this stage that they don't need to rehearse songs from the album yet. This will develop loads.

You're right. Streets is a must have. Best livesong ever. I'll be a little bit disappointed if they don't play it in october. But o.k. they played the JT stuff last year and Streets, WOWY etc. over and over again all those years. A setlist without Streets is hard to take. They are crowdpleasers. Or even rotate it with BD, Elev, Vertgo. Why always these songs. It makes me happy if Acrobat and An Cat Dubh are in the setlist. First time I will hear it. I will go crazy. ACD without Into the Heart, that's weird. LIAWHL for opening, fantastic.
  5. Very nice setlist !
Do you think there is the "Encore" in this ? It could explain why there is no Where the Streets have no name, we will see in 17 days
  6. I think they may rotate An Cat Dubh and I will follow like they did with the oldies on the IE tour
  7. Apart from the SOE songs and acrobat its just a standard setlist of songs that have been played many times before so no big surprises, i was hoping they would have pushed themselves and brought out the songs you rarely hear, do you feel loved, dirty day are a couple that springs to mind.
  8. I think Streets will either be played from the beginning of the tour or it will make a swift return after missing a few shows. If they can’t resist bringing back vertigo on TJT tour after it was initially dropped they’re not going to be able to resist Streets. WOWY is even likely to make its way into the Setlist even if it isn’t played opening night.

I have a feeling (judging by the rehearsals) the encore will be Get Out Of Your Own Way-American Soul-City of Blinding Lights-One-Love Is Bigger-13.
  10. Updated opening post with all rehearsals and added a link to the Acrobat recording as the other one expired.
  11. The only justification for dropping Streets is that it has been played so much....

....But then what is the excuse for Beautiful Day/Elevation/Vertigo/One/Pride staying which have all been played as much?

Beautiful Day/Elevation should be a rotation slot as others have said.

Maybe they can't see a segue into Streets with the current line up. Who knows but I am baffled if they drop Streets but keep other overplayed songs.
  12. Ugh, some things I don't like: The Fly seems dropped already. The Little Things, as in one of the best songs on the album has not been rehearsed. And yes, more Pride, Elevation, Beautiful Day and COBL

Things I do like: that whole segment from Wild Horses to HMTM will be THE best part of the show. Just amazing.
