Experience and Innocence tour
Legs (3): Promo tour, Leg 1: North America, Leg 2: Europe
Shows: 75

  1. Me neither actually. I'm not too thrilled about this return. I do like that it is an old obscure song to tie into innocence but that's about it.

If you just read on the internet you would think U2 has the worst, unthankful, spoilt fans in the world, but being at a U2 show gives a bit of a different feeling. The U2 members maybe aren't even that much aware of the negative attitude on the internet, they maybe only see what's happening on (and around) the shows.

Probably the best way to be! I sometimes wonder why many of the posters on here even like U2 with half of their posts!

I'm sure there are loads who love it (and fair play to them!) but for me it's almost a 'rarity for rarities sake', if that makes sense? There's a great many more 'rare' songs I'd choose over it.
  4. Most of them aren't fan's they just love to whine about a tour that hasn't even happened yet some of the vitriol is more of a reflection of their lives rather than anything U2 do .
  5. When you follow a band for so long and obsess about every minute detail then it can be easy to find the negatives. The positives often get lost through repetition leaving you craving something that isn’t likely to happen.

I like the new album. I’m willing to accept touring the same production as 2015 but I can say for sure that I would feel a little ripped off should this tour simply be an extension of 2015. The Iris, SFS, SBS and RBW portion would be a massive disappointment. The songs themselves are grand (RBW especially) but we’ve had that tour. Now give us THIS tour.

Still remaining patient until opening night.
  6. Personally, I love SOI and SOE and I think it is great that they believe in their new songs (and something from POP, holy shit) enough to play them.

Let's see how this shakes out in Tulsa. For all we know they have been killing the PA when playing other songs.

Totally legit if they weren’t performing a good portion of the album though. So it definitely isn’t the same thing as 2015.

That said the sequence in question IS a bit strange.
  8. I kind of get the feeling that The Ocean will just be played instrumentally while Bono gives his little speech between IWF and Iris. Just to give the band something to do and make that part of the show flow better and not feel like the show is coming to a screeching halt. The crowds always got antsy during that speech, but I can't see him not doing some version of it if they're keeping the structure of that part the same. Can't see them going immediately from that speech into The Ocean instead of right into Iris either.

It will be the MLK/Scarlet of this tour
  10. I wouldn't mind a show made up of 15 songs from the past two albums along with 6 songs from the 90s (including acrobat and staring at the sun) plus 4-5 from the 80s and that is it. With no Joshua tree.
