Experience and Innocence tour
Legs (3): Promo tour, Leg 1: North America, Leg 2: Europe
Shows: 75
  1. Oh I didn't know he made a speech during the Vertigo tour. I have maybe heard just one bootleg from that tour with Ocean and it was years ago

That's lazy Bono. Repeating tropes. It would be like repeating a sequence of song...
    Oh...

From the performances of The Ocean in the Vertigo tour that I remember, Bono didn't sing the lyrics, just rambled about when they played at that city 25 years ago, the name of the club, etc.

  3. Yeah, like when they copied Ultra Violet -> WoWY from ZooTV on 360. Man I hated that.

They are neither good enough musicians to rehearse and nail exceptional numbers of songs and the screens are so much part of the show that they can't suddenly wander off down the road of say i threw a brick/a day without me because it will throw the whole circus act out. Nor are they interested in rehearsing such numbers of songs - well one of them isn't he's more interested in getting on a plane to texas apparently.

I'm with you on wanting them to incorporate some more rarities instead of hits we've heard on the last few tours. But when I see U2, I expect to see a "show", not just a "concert". I want the whole experience to be multisensory, have a narrative, showcase incredible music AND be incredibly well-crafted in terms of the lights/screen/stage set-up. This is what makes seeing them live so great, for me, at least. And maybe why I rank Zoo TV and PopMart at the top of my list but Elevation near the bottom.

The click track has become a crutch. There are bands with shows with more technology who don't use a click, or they just use it when they really need to sync with something. Tool, Rush etc.

They have one of the best rock drummers on the planet but they still rely on a click. That's just sad and a disservice to Adam and Larry who are fantastic musicians.
  6. What do you think about an Encore like this ?

Where the streets have no name
    WOWY
    Little things ( night 1 ) / 40 ( night 2 )

That could be the reason why we don't see these songs in rehearsals.
  7. Ahhh Little Things.

This better be in the setlist. It was awesome imho.

should be the closer. could acrobat work in encore?
  9. It depends if it is in the section with Wild Horses , Hmtmkmkm , but yes it could work I think !
  10. Tbh I couldn’t care less at this point where acrobat features in the Setlist just as long as it’s in there somewhere. I would even accept wild horses being ditched if they play acrobat, we’ll see, I can’t lie if I don’t hear acrobat on opening night and more importantly to me either night of the 2 I’m attending in London I’ll be gutted but at the same time when they play Love is bigger I’ll be able to forgive it for 4 and a half minutes give or take.

Little Things I still am hoping for. They didn't play it often enough on the JT tour last year to warrant cutting it out, especially as it's one of, if not the best, song on the album they are touring behind.

Acrobat in the encore would be brilliant, too.

But I think the JT album songs are all going to be gone. Crazy to think of a whole tour without Streets, but after last year, it makes sense.
  12. The set doesn't seem complete, maybe that's due to Streets missing, but seems like there should be more. With a little more than a week to go we could still be surprised, I hope.
