  1. Yeah that was an amazing version of the song, I think having the orchestra really added to it as well.

It would be so easy for the band basically post HTDAAB to play only greatest hits sets with the albums that followed not being a major commercial success. However they’ve always brought new material into the setlists and always looked to bring back songs that aren’t obvious choices. I think people struggle to accept when the band don’t meet there preferences and I don’t think that’s fair, there really should be a level of acceptance that the band aren’t going to totally satisfy your wants and that will only grow as they release more stuff because the competition for a Setlist spot increases and things need dropped. Looking at what the band have been rehearsing I defintely accept certain negative views but as a whole the Setlist is very good, it’s risky, full of new stuff, bringing back songs from SOI which was clearly a far from obvious choice as none of us had predicted it. Acrobat could well be a regular, they’re looking at bringing back wild horses, Staring at the sun, the ocean, ABOY, 4 songs that could easily be replaced by the likes of overplayed stuff such as mysterious ways, ISHFWILF, Bullet, and angel Of Harlem, but no they’ve looked a little outside the box. Only around 1/3 of the Setlist is hits which is not a lot for a band as big as u2. I honestly feel people who aren’t happy with the rehearsals want too much from the band. As i said I’m not dismissing every negative opinion but it’s the wave of negativity that I think is unfair.

Amen 100%. Unfair and very off-putting.

You can please some of the people sometimes, but you cannot please all of the people all of the time.!!
  6. And now you've seen the light, stand up for your rights.
  7. To be fair to the band, from what I saw of the rehearsals I was really pleased with what they're intending on playing, lots of songs I haven't seen them play live before

My only true gripe is the lack of Streets, which I hope will return by the time of the European leg.

  8. I read this post a little while ago, then went for a shower. You had me humming AIWIY the whole way through the shower!

I’d definitely be up for hearing it again live

    well said !
  10. So yesterday was the last full dress rehearsal. Any news?
  11. Ok, with Acrobat and Wild Horses and the odd rarity of ABOY it's ok. It could be better, but it could be a lot worse.
