Experience and Innocence tour
Legs (3): Promo tour, Leg 1: North America, Leg 2: Europe
Shows: 75
  1. I take pictures and some (minimal) audio. Mostly because my mom is a photographer and if I don't bring back pictures, it never happened (in her mind)
  2. My phone doesn’t come out at all during a gig. I think I took one photo at twickenham last year and it was Of Noel because my mate was asking me how close we were. No chance would I bring my phone out when u2 are playing.
  3. I don't hate phones out at all. We woudnt have the amazing multicam bootlegs. Think about it, and audio recorder and multiple camera and phone footage can make a concert film. I film so I can show my family

  4. I'll take a few shots for stuff like this
  5. I just took 2 - 3 pics before my show last year and I don't regret it.
Some years ago I held my camera up in a Depeche Mode concert and recorded my favorite song. In retrospect it kinda ruined the feeling because I was concentrated on capturing a decent shot and singing without overwhelming the audio.

Didn't happen at all with U2. It was the greatest feeling from start to end.
I guess I could take a pic or two if it's during a song I've heard more than once, but I still wouldn't take many pictures

I think people that are very good at it can give us a good quality video to enjoy of the show and that’s where maybe recording stuff has its place but I just think it ruins the experience by putting a barrier up between yourself and the thing that you’re filming. I don’t think there’s any point in doing what most people do recording a poor quality short clip of a song. U2gigs videos are pretty consistently good and I can use these if I want to relive a show or let someone else see it without having to sacrifice my own enjoyment at the show. Even if the videos weren’t on YouTube I could live with it knowing I fully enjoyed myself at the gig.
  7. The Encore still sucks.
  8. I think the best thing of the tour is no fans being brought up on stage. (So far...)
  9. I have a theory! I am probably wrong and apologies if it has already been raised.

I’m sure I’m not the only one pissed off that ‘Summer of Love’ and ‘Red Flag’ have been excluded from the American leg. Well, seeing the set from Pride to COBL is heavily influenced but the States and probably won’t work well in The European Dates. I’m wondering (and hoping) that by the time they get to Europe they will drop these four songs as play ‘Summer’ and ‘Red Flag’ and maybe ‘The Refugee’. The Charles Manson/NRA influenced Bullet didn’t really work in Europe in the Elevation tour so here’s hoping they learn from their mistake.
  10. I follow your way : For Europe this part would be dedicated to the refugee issue
  11. I guess tomorrow will be the big test. Hopefully it gets a rotation slot at least.
