Experience and Innocence tour
Legs (3): Promo tour, Leg 1: North America, Leg 2: Europe
Shows: 75
  1. And that would be a big shame...
  2. The Refugee? Seriously? I like the song but there are some diehards that might not know it and/or would probably hate that they were playing it. U2 are obviously not a jam band that just inserts a song because they feel like playing it and a higher percentage of the crowd is casuals as Remy pointed out.
I like the set list as it is currently with just some tweaks that would be fairly simple (In U2 terms) to make.
-First, Bono please just sing Love Is All We Have Left, no recording please.
-Second, I love the string version of Lights of Home, but play the full band version so Edge can actually do something beside a lame noise over the prerecorded strings. Or combine the two versions.
-Third, take out Until the End of the World and play Wild Horses instead, like in rehearsal. That was/is a good transition and is still a good Achtung Baby representation.
-Fourth, PLAY, HMTMKMKM, do not use it as an intermission.
-Fifth, put Streets in there somewhere. The set list lacks that “moment” that Streets always brings. It is one of the warhorses that most fans do not mind hearing and the casuals are expecting.

Refugiee is just an example to mix things up. For me they van drop Elevation and/or Vertigo for WTSHNN...
  4. All the songs from I&E are good for me. They can play both those albums in full for me.
  5. In fairness they could drop elevation or vertigo for Streets that’s a fair compromise. What I’m saying is they wouldn’t take out elevation and put in the refugee as that would negatively impact the overall feel of the show for most fans anyway . The band always try and strike a balance. Playing plenty of new stuff a few songs for the hardcore fans and the rest hits. They could take out elevation and vertigo but maybe they just enjoy playing them more than Streets just now, they know they work and they probably feel they’re putting more than enough interesting songs in the Setlist that they don’t feel the need to drop them.

They dropped all the songs from JT... Any song from JT is better than Elevation/Vertigo. I have just seen and heared them to much...
And Refugee was just one example... Two hearts or Surrender are better...
  7. IMO, the first show have the best set, I would not change a thing.
maybe little things in place of 13.

maybe draw SFS and put gloria/NYD, the rest. let the band play whatever it wants

I doubt that, that is what they are doing...
  9. Do you think someone else besides the band is asking them to play cedarwood road and iris?

But it doesn’t really. I think the crowd will go wilder with the classic songs. Put in Refugee, Surrender, Two Hearts, Like a Song, Wire, or even older any other song from Boy or October. Or later God Part II, or something from PoP or NLOTH...
If you drop all the songs from JT, what I can understand. Then drop the other easy ones too...

Never mistake your personal preference for what the crowd want. Much as I love most of those songs, 75% of the audience would be baffled by most of them and wondering why the band aren't playing Angel Of Harlem.
