Shows: 75

maybe little things in place of 13.

maybe draw SFS and put gloria/NYD, the rest. let the band play whatever it wants
I’ve been happy with all the setlists, I agree though Tulsa was the best but only because we got the addition of wild horses and they played 4 Innocence songs. The only gig I’ve had issue with is St Louis and that was based on performance.

What I’m saying is they wouldn’t take out elevation and put in the refugee as that would negatively impact the overall feel of the show for most fans anyway . The band always try and strike a balance. Playing plenty of new stuff a few songs for the hardcore fans and the rest hits. They could take out elevation and vertigo but maybe they just enjoy playing them more than Streets just now, they know they work and they probably feel they’re putting more than enough interesting songs in the Setlist that they don’t feel the need to drop them.
Agreed, but take out Sunday Bloody Sunday. I should have listed that also in my list of tweaks. Play it like they day for the JT 17 tour or play something else. I do not think this version works and it certainly did not need to be resurrected from the Innocence tour. I would rather hear Vertigo than this version of SBS.
  3. Yeah I think a lot of people aren’t overly keen on this version of SBS which does nothing for any category of fan. Btw just take a look at last nights Setlist which wasn’t as extreme as night 1 and 16 out of the 26 songs are ones that the casual fans wouldn’t expect. That shows that the band aren’t just catering to the casual fans. Quite impressive really.

  4. No, I was talking about the easy songs they have been playing for too long now....

    Still better then Elevation/Vertigo...
  6. On reflection, it's a strong set (I saw the video of the whole St Louis set), and if you haven't seen IE, Iris/Cedarwood/Song and Raised By Wolves/UTEOTW are essential to the narrative.

That said, the I Will Follow / Ocean / Iris transition is perfect and has to stay. Breaking this up with NYD / Gloria spoils the narrative flow.

I'd be happy for them to make the second 'quarter' :

    Follow
    Ocean
    Iris
    Cedarwood Road
    Raised By Wolves
    Please
Love Is All We Have Left
    Streets

Sure, you ditch SFS, SBS, and UTEOTW.

You could back up the end of set 2 with :

    Pride
Get Out Of Your Own Way
    American Soul
Until The End of The World

UTEOTW could serve as an apocalyptic set closing warning about the consequences of *not* changing path politically.

Move COBL to the encore, after One.

All ideas, none I doubt they will use.

And that is what I mean, my personal preference aside. I just want them to mix up the setlist I have seen the last 10 years. I just put up a couple of songs as an example of songs that would make more of an impact...
  8. Yeah, a negative impact.
Have you seen the reaction they get from Vertigo and Elevation?
Compare it with say, Red Hill Mining Town

Of course I would play to death Vertigo and Elevation. That feeling you get from the crowd going nuts must be a rush of adrenaline for them.

They are already playing a lot of obscure/new songs. Adding a few more instead of Vertigo/Elevation/Desire would leave the audience bored

So U2 are attrecting so much new fans? Or is it just a concert for the .... ?
I simply do not agree. Sorry.

I think its the Larry drummer boy look with the Irish flag colored lighting that causes them to do it. But they could put a simple drum kit on the catwalk (Like on Blackout) and play pretty much a full version of the song and that would work better.
I have been a fan for a long time and typically I see my variation as the new material, anything more is kind of a bonus. I like the Experience album and wish they would do more of it. Little Things, Landlady and Red Flag Day would be great. Unfortunately 2 of those are slower paced and can be setlist killers if not placed properly.

And, yes... I have seen the reaction from Vertigo/Elevation... Unfortunately to many times....
  12. easy? you mean easy to win the public, or easy to play? cause to me these 2 things do not fit in the current setlist
