    I love red flag day, but I really think that the new set list worked better without it, with Beautiful Day after I Will Follow and Gloria, I don't think red Flag Day would've fit in there. I hope they find a way to do it.

    I would've been disappointed if I had gone to and just to night 2, because I love RFD, but then again I would've felt equally disappointed if they had played Wild Horses instead, since I still didn't get RFD...

    So, it is a lose-lose situation but for the band... They either play the exact same setlist so people don't feel disappointed for missing a song (boo!), or they mess with the setlist from night to night so people don't find it boring (boo! as well)
  4. There literally is no excuse for dropping a song on the second night. ABOY or NYD could easily have been swapped in for RFD.

    I'm aware the band are approaching 60 and really giving it their all with the setlist length but even if 5% of the audience go to both nights, one different song for night 2 really isn't asking much of the band. I think this is a big reason why I much prefer I+E so far. Of course I haven't seen this show in person yet but the band seemed much more loose and open to changing a couple of songs. The E-stage is so static this time round and I even miss the band bringing people up to play instruments on certain songs...though I know that might be an unpopular opinion on here.

    Did anyone catch Bono's mention of Pop before SATS? Something along the lines of "No one talks about, there's some good ones on there."

    there were 52 songs played during the course of the elevation tour which means that already they have to find another 22 completely new performances to match that (roughly one every two and a half shows). Pitchforks ahoy!

    over 113 shows yes. But there were many cities that got less than 25 different songs, that was what I was trying to say. Let's give E&I a chance at least.

    It's not quite like that. I like the current setlist. I know it works live and I know that even if you get the same setlist at your shows you'll still going to have a blast.
    But that doesn't mean the setlist or the show are perfect. In the past, U2 always gave a minimal variation between shows. During Zoo TV we had the b-stage where they could play AOH, VDL or even Dancing Queen!
    I am just concerned that it took us 2 legs on the innocence tour to reach this discussion but now we did it in 6 shows.

    Yes I've said that I miss the e stage, and the expectation of what would they play today in those 4-6 spots of rotation (song #2, e-stage, encore opening, and the closer).

    I was expecting something like that in this tour as well; but 6 shows in, it appears that we won't get not even that type of variation, so, for now on there's no point in expecting that something will change... is just either accepting it and try to enjoy it for what it is (which is still a lot, with 11-12 songs from recent 2 albums, acrobat, and a very solid show), or just complaining for the rest of the tour of the same things over and over again, and considering we just starting it...

    People will complain that the show is static and why they're not playing x or y song, and then people will complain that people complain, and then people will complain that people complain about their complaining.
    This has less variation that U2's set lists.

  12. Well having just listened to Nuno's Rehearsal recording, I must say The Showman simply has to find its way into the setlist, they absolutely nailed it, and it would fit so well on the e-stage segment.
