I don't think number of songs says anything about the quality of the show. Just says something about quantitative value for money.
last year they played JT entire album plus better songs (except as usual bd, vertigo, elevaton) , the show 2018, as i wrote ,is similar as 2015 , stages and megascreen, some lights too etc but 8 songs from SOE are really too many .....but i respect your opinion as in the same time i'm convinced about mine.

it's Experience + Innocence Tour, what songs did you expect?
  3. exactly... its not best of tour but tour for SOE... so many songs from that album are expected...
  4. I don’t go along with the argument about playing too many SOE songs the only issue so far is the Setlist now shortening by 3 songs from what they played night 1. There is no need to shorten the Setlist, yes the Setlist is still a good length but if you set the bar high don’t drop it for absolutely no reason. The band know people follow the setlists, I don’t care what % Of fans do but there are a few of us and they must know it’s disappointing going from 27 down to 24 songs especially when wild horses got ditched for no good reason as well. Last year I don’t think they played enough songs either but at least they kept it at a consistent level pretty much throughout each leg and we knew what to expect. It’s not surprising though people are looking for a good explanation or reason to drop songs last night and the answer is there isn’t one.

I agree, people need to realise, the majority of songs they will hear will be from Songs of Experience and should expect at leas 6-7 songs. I also agree with your point about the setlist - Wild Horses is the Miracle Drug of 2015.

In 2016, The Cure performed 87 different songs. 87. I know we shouldn't expect U2 to change it that drastically given the nature of the storyline of the tour, but just some rotation would be good - again nothing drastic - 1-3 songs a night is what people are wanting

I agree. I’ll never understand some of these choices. To me, a tour should get better not worse. I know I’m a big PJ fan and honestly, I never expect u2 to switch it up like that. Their live shows are approached in 2 completely different ways. However, variation has become non existent as their career goes on. IMO, at this point in their career they should be more courageous than ever. 3-6 songs should be rotated. I think that’s more than do able. My first show is Nassau. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it and can’t wait to experience it. I can’t help but to be realistic in thinking if I get a short set, it’ll be hard to mask my disappointment. It’s a shame this neutered version of LOH gets played every night but RFD doesn’t.

I saw 15 shows on Springsteen's Wrecking ball tour and got 135 different songs (in total he played 240 different songs on the tour). I only saw 6 shows on the River 2016 tour but I got 81 different songs. Two of the shows were in Gothenburg where he played 18 different songs on night 2 that he didn't play on night 1. U2 are U2 so I don't expect much from them these days but 3 or 4 changes wouldn't kill them. Dropping 2 songs is not exactly what I have in mind !!

Spot on. If you're dropping two songs, at least replace them - even if that means playing Angel of Harlem and Stuck in A Moment.
  9. Apparently drive by checkins were a thing in Omaha.

  10. very simple answer if you see them 'across the street' doing this find a payphone, call the cops and say someone is drug dealing as cars are driving up to them and then driving away. #cavitysearches

  11. *yawn* please wake me when the tour is over.....
  12. Sorry mates, i'm 58 years old and i follow u2 since ever, maybe i'm the oldest here on u2start. Saw them so many times , many times that are enough to confirm that in the last two tours (JT anniversary 2017 and this one 2018 ) the band and Guy Oseary are thinking more on money than on fans. I feel that in my blood, soul ,heart listening to concerts. And the number of NO SOLD OUT and free SEATS are a real reason to discuss. More: ok that's SOE tour but 8 songs are too many, there is no reasons to play all these songs and one or two from others album with BD, VERTIGO, ELEVATION always on setlist. No Streets. Why don't they play different songs from SOI and SOE? Why Pearl Jam, Cure and Boss and others artists change their setlists every night? I'm afraid, i respect your opinions please respect mine. Thanks a lot.Ciao (forza juventus).
