  2. Nah, October is worse than both. Although before UF and War have some total stinkers on them.
  4. To understand "How much " i like an album i do something else while listening to it.for example crosswords or Reading a book .if i concentrate to much on the book or else it means that the music doesn't capture me At all
    That happens with October
    And Pop ( not every Song )
  5. We're one, but we're not the same. Thats what makes the whole ride wonderful... October (as well as Boy) to me is about that time in my life - the people, the places - first crushes, first heartbreaks. Both are more like spiritual guides for me, a pre-teen at the time... discovering the world, wide eyed and unjaded by the world outside... but I do get why they're lower down the wrung for most... especially for those weren't alive for the true "innocence" era

    I agree with this, I was first introduced to U2 when I was 12 years old in 1983. Boy, October and War have a special place with me as I grew up listening to those albums

    Where you are in life/the time an album comes into it are very indicative of how you rate it which speaks to the subjectivity of music and art in general. October is probably my least favourite but I do enjoy it and am always interested when people share stories about what makes them love something that I don't particularly hold in such high regard.
  9. Thats a very good way to put it. October does not resonate well with me but my father is the same way, it just reminds him of that time in his life.

  11. Each and every time I've seen U2 (12 since 2009) they've played a song I've never heard them do before. I was just looking at my past U2 setlists and realized this.

    Would you say this is the case for you? Do you generally get SOMETHING new each time you see the band? Or have you seen them enough times now that it's all repeats?

    Nice point. I'd say that's generally true for fans like you and me who do between 1 and 5 shows per tour. Once you get past the 5 gigs mark I'd say it's dangerously probable that you get a show with no new songs for you.
