1. Fingers crossed we get rid of Brazil and Neymar who would be more at home in an olympic diving competition tomorrow or at least serbia taunt him into a second booking.

Won't go that far. But they gotta push through the big crowd faves... Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo...

Anyway. I'm pulling for England, Mexico, Belgium and Croatia now. Get some new blood in the final four.
I think whoever finishes 1st out of England vs Belgium will be out in the quarters and whoever finishes 2nd will get to the semis. Croatia I’ve not mapped out there draw yet but they look a decent side. Even though I’ll be backing Argentina I think France might get the better of them.

Same can be said for Ronaldo...
  4. should have been sent off yesterday. Anyone from the "unfavoured" teams does that and it's seen as a punch and a straight red.

Agreed. That Belgium England game will be weird. I expect a few changes from both teams, and both teams probably secretly hoping to lose so they can get the easier draw
  6. A team that plays "to draw" or to get in 2nd place just to play with scenarios and avoiding rivals has a poor mentality and doesn't deserve to get far in this WC imo.

absolutely plus FIFA would use it as an excuse to throw england out

Not at all. If you could choose (which they effectively can) why would you risk playing the likes of Germany, Brasil, Spain and France when you can face Japan, Mexico, Serbia and fly straight into the Semis.

I do actually expect both teams will go for the win, but I doubt they'll be giving their all.

I agree. That teams that make the final will be those who strive to be better than the best...

You're underestimating rivals. We beat Germany for a reason. Croatia was 1st place for a reason.
    It's a poor mentality.
  11. Exactly. I dont think I'd want to be playing either Croatia or Uruguay right now. Or Mexico, for that matter...
  12. That's interesting. I'll guess we'll have to agree to disagree. But if it's 10 minutes to go and it's 0-0 and Southgate brings on Danny Rose instead of Jamie Vardy I for one won't be complaining.

You might call it poor mentality, but ultimately its looking at the bigger picture too.
