    Yes yes yes

Anyway. I'm pulling for England, Mexico, Belgium and Croatia now. Get some new blood in the final four.

Yes let's hope so. But England and Belgium didn't get a good opponent so far. But yes these teams looking fresh.
  3. Don't get me wrong, of course any team deep in their minds wants to avoid the super powers. It would suck that if Mexico gets 1st place still has to face Brazil.
But if we have to play against a super power, I'd want it to be because we always played to win and circumstances yielded that match, not because my team speculated with the score and played to loose or to draw.
  4. It’s a tough one but if I’m being honest despite how well some of the lesser fancied sides have done avoiding the big nations is always favourable. England or Belgium will likely be favourite in the last 16 and quarter finals if they finish 2nd whereas I would expect both to get put out by either Brazil or Germany in the quarters if they win the group. You’ve got to be clever, rest the big players and see what happens. If they get beat then the first team players haven’t lost any confidence or momentum and if they win then the 2nd string have had a good run out and the squad has proved its worth. It will probably be a 0-0 and come down to bookings.

  5. really? even if it's true, you don't have to tell us.

  6. Please for the love of god can we finish second!
  7. I'd prefer to win it against colombia, germany/brazil, argentina/portugal, spain. Then the ghosts of world cups past are well and truly buried and no clever bastards can say oh but you wouldn't have won it if.....
  8. Than Belgium has to beat England. I think Belgium will play for a draw. A good result for them. And maybe the 2nd place for more chances to get through. Or England will be lucky with enough yellow cards on Fairplay the 2nd place.

Yeah, whilst I can't speak for the Belgium team and how they are going to play things on Thursday, I really feel this England side from what I've seen so far, will be heads-down going for a win and that's the mentality you should have every game if you want to go all the way. However, I think there will be some fresh England blood on the field so it will be interesting to see how it all pans out. Just hoping no lazy football and that it's an enjoyable watch without the theatrics and blatant cheating that so many other teams are indulging in. France vs Denmark yesterday was a terrible match to watch, they may as well have just tossed a coin for the result.
  10. A stupid yellow card to avoid winning a group can easily with a dodgy referee in the second round become a stupid ban that is easily as influential on how far you get as playing Brazil or Germany in the quarter-finals. Just to clarify neither of them are actually through to the second round yet and neither have done anything to strike fear into the hearts of future opponents.
