    Wild Horses was being rehearsed even before Laval so it shows they wanted to put it in somewhere but until they were able to reframe the narrative part - the bands gaining experience over the more personal Bono’s loss of innocence bit they didn’t know what to do with it. Now that section has been retooled it’s clear that there are now a few more songs they can play in this part to keep it interesting and keep the energy up.

    Yeah I agree - it didn’t sound great.

    But finally after 25+ years they’ve nailed it! A song they’ve always struggled with now sounds fantastic.
  3. It sounded great on ZooTV and it was pretty good on Vertigo when it was electric (Boston III and Amsterdam III versions in particular).

    It didn't work at all in Tulsa. It's much better now with the new ending.

  7. I disagree that they dropped wild horses because it didn’t work or wasn’t performed well. I didn’t think the Tulsa performance was bad at all and they gave a good performance of it at the Apollo too. There was definitely more of a stubbornness from the band to change the set early in the tour because of the theme, they we’re happy to introduce songs at the Apollo show for example but wouldn’t add them to the E&I set either. That’s not a lack of preparation or being off your game that’s a choice.
