Experience and Innocence tour
Legs (3): Promo tour, Leg 1: North America, Leg 2: Europe
Shows: 75
  1. I still think little things would have worked well after COBL closing the main set. I do find it strange they’ve decided not to play it on the tour it would be great to hear there reasoning why as I would have thought they would have been strongly considering playing it when planning the Setlist.

Yeah, it really makes no sense to me. It's obviously the peak of the album both musically and thematically, and would probably be on the tour as well.

Maybe they felt like it just brought the show down too much..but then they end on 13..so who knows.

    Weird.

  3. Maybe, maybe not. I think we can still hope, given half of AB+Acrobat+Macphisto are back. We know the band love AB, why should it deserve any less than JT ? It would be better than getting a 30 anniversary edition of the album...
  4. They wouldn't have done Acrobat this tour if they were going to do AB30.

For those reasons, I would expect NOT to see it - they've already done it on this tour.

And AB deserves it less because like it or not, Joshua Tree is widely, by-and-large considered to be U2's magnum opus, their masterpiece, their BIG album. Achtung Baby, no matter how their fans feel about it, simply isn't that. It's not nearly as easy a sell for an anniversary tour. Plus, it was a big move for U2 to do a tour like that at, at all. There's no way they do it again, and so soon after. Plus, and I say this with all due respect, it's easier for current-U2 to do Joshua Tree than it is Achtung Baby. Achtung Baby has a certain mood, tone, a sexiness, grooviness, etc., that U2 of today just wouldn't do justice. The songs may not have aged, but the band has. Bono can still sing I Still Haven't Found and it carries as much meaning as it did when he wrote it. With Achtung Baby, to go out on a themed tour, I don't think it would work quite as well. Bono couldn't be The Fly anymore, and while the MacPhisto thing on the current tour is cool, it's not the same either.

I don't think they do a tour or another anniversary release. I could see them celebrating that anniversary with a fanclub release, but nah. There's no way they could top the Uber set from the 20th anniversary back in 2011. I could see them doing a DVD release and a special vinyl or something, but that's it.
  6. There is still a proper full band electric So Cruel to be done
  7. Regarding the discussion of Little Things above and considering the fact that they've soundchecked Dirty Day...

    1. Put Dirty Day in where Beautiful Day currently is, seguing into Zoo Station as practiced.
    2. Play Little Things after COBL to end the main set.
    3. Open the encore with BD (and throw in Landlady as a bonus still?)
  8. No. Keep Beautiful Day where it is. It works well there.
  9. No. Where it works best is after Lighta Of Home with the mini JT30 intro
  10. I agree, Beautiful Day is better than it’s been since the elevation tour days, perfectly positioned and played the way it should be.

I think it's the same as it's been since Elevation and so is Elevation - great for the first tour but could give way to other songs given we keep Vertigo and COBL as well - if we have to have it, at least give it the cool intro

I just think the build up was too much, it was ok but I just want to kick right into the song. I definitely feel that elevation was better on the elevation tour, even with the current intro it’s not the same, they don’t carry on the ‘soul, the goal is elevation’ straight into it there’s a little pause for the E&I version which is a bit weird.
