If there was a desire, they could easily schedule another North American tour leg and add in shows in LA, NY, wherever.
That said, it probably seems wiser to take a few years off and then come back with a big stadium tour.
Scheduling a standalone mini tour in Australia/NZ/Asia would take a huge burden off of their backs when it comes to their next big tour in 2020/21/22/whenever. Heading down to Australia next year without any other touring around it wouldn't be a huge strain on their aging bodies, nor on their personal lives. And then they can just focus on Europe and NA on their next regular tour without having to worry about anywhere else.
