Sticking with boy a Day Without me and twilight would be great too. From October I’d love to hear with a shout and I fall down and from war I think two hearts should really have got more of run and drowning man would be cool.

I've gotta go and play a few early-1980's boots this weekend.
  2. The last 4 U2 albums are all better than the first 4 U2 albums
  3. Wow this is a crazy one I would never think someone would have this view that’s interesting!
  4. Yeah, good one!

Boy, October, War & TUF versus HTDAAB, NLOTH, SOI & SOE...

Whereas I came to appreciate October much better now than, say, five years ago, HTDAAB has lost a bit of my interest (although I still think Crumbs and SYCMIOYO are absolute gems!). But both Boy and War outrank SOI in my opinion, but not SOE or NLOTH...

If I would rank those eight albums, it would come down to this:

    SOE … 8 points
    TUF … 7 points
    NLOTH … 6 points
    Boy … 5 points
    War … 4 points
    SOI … 3 points
    October …. 2 points
    HTDAAB … 1 point
    =================

Boy, October, War & TUF = 18 points
HTDAAB, NLOTH, SOI & SOE = 18 points

    A tie
  5. U2 is still at the top of their game and Songs of Experience stands up to their best work. I think every album has a fighting chance in the "best album" category, except maybe October, which might be their weakest overall.
  6. My unpopular U2 opinion is that SOE is by far their weakest album. Bono talk and a unspired Edge.
  7. Bono's voice during PopMart was extremely good

(I can't rank my first three albums so I will split the 8-7-6 and give them all 7's)

    War ........7
    Boy ....... 7
    TUF.........7
    SOI ........5
    Bomb......4
    SOE....... 3
    NLOTH...2
    Oct..........1

That's a 22 to 14 victory for the first four albums (imho, of course).
  9. Some days are better than others is a wonderful tune, the song has AB all over it,man listen to that guitar and Adam give the jazzman his time to take centre stage with that funky bass.
