Joshua Tree Tour 2019
Legs (1): New Zealand, Australia and Asia
Shows: 15
  1. Did anyone here buy VIP packages? And when you’re together and only need one gift is it possible to get/buy one?
  2. Of course they should not cancel a show für to bad sales, as it would punish those who planned to attend and bought tickets.

Didn't they cancel Raleigh PopMart because of ticket sales? I know there were technical issues with the screen; thought I remember something of a conspiracy on this one....I might also be out to lunch!

I don’t think there was any substance to these claims. They played other popmart shows with equally poor ticket sales.
  5. Then I'm mistaking it for something else!
  6. No you’re right that people tried to make the claim it was cancelled because of ticket sales but there was never any proof of that, people just coming to there own conclusions. So there was no substance to there claim. It was actually a damaged video screen that was the issue because of damage from the previous show.
  7. Why didn't they play without the screen would have been a much better concert, at the time they were really struggling to play the POP songs live and they were due to play 3 nights in Giants stadium the following week where the media were waiting in their droves so they needed time to rehearse to try and nail the songs ,the band have often said over the years it doesn't matter how good or bad you are in other cities if you don't get it right New York and London your toast.

The same reason they didn’t go to Sarajevo without the screen or they don’t take a half hearted set up to places that cause more logistical issues. The band insist on putting on the show they want to do. The band could have quite easily fit in rehearsals around the Raleigh show if they needed to. You’re entitled to believe what you want though but there’s no logic to suggest they cancelled the show for anything other than the official reason given.
  9. They had just played Washington prior to the cancelled Raleigh gig and it didn't go well they needed time to prepare for the New York gigs they could get away with cancelling the Raleigh show without causing too much of a fuss, things were really bad for the first few weeks of that tour they spent too much time working on the stage design and props and forgot about the most important thing the songs they had to be a lot more polished in New York as the eyes of the media world were on them.

That’s a theory but without any proof that’s all it is, it isn’t a reason but merely your belief and I don’t think it’s a very good theory at that. The band could have easily worked on things whether the Raleigh show happened or not, in fact the show could have been a good rehearsal in itself if they were really placing that much emphasis on the New York shows.

Could it be the different agencies have different rights/strategies? Sydney is being sold through Ticketek while Auckland is Ticketmaster. That would be one explanation but I thought Live Nation would the decision maker.

Agree, could even spur them on to prove themselves for the rest of the leg
