1. Sleep like a baby tonight is such a great winter song.
  2. I haven't listened to either in some time, so I will do my homework later. I don't like the falsetto in Sleep; it seems awkward.

On SoI. Just not into every breaking wave and songs like that. Realy dislike that kind of U2. Half of the last albums has those, for me, crap u2 on it, with among the worst songs Lights of home ?

And mercy is overrated, not even a b side. Bit hysteric singing by Bono.

More into the darker u2. Sleep like a baby is what’s worth it nowadays

I totally get the appreciation for "darker U2" like on Sleep Like a Baby...

...but isn't Lights Of Home a pretty dark tune, to? Fair enough if you just don't like it as much musically, but lyrically it's all about Bono almost dying and questioning God.

Also, regarding Angel of Harlem above...I still can't believe I haven't heard that song live yet in 10 shows I've been to.

  4. the Last Christmas video has been remastered in 4k - presumably they were able to do this as it was filmed on 35mm. It looks incredible.

What U2 videos would they be able to do this with?

None, they will just delete one of their most viewed videos on YouTube in WOWY and upload a slightly different video version instead
  6. Rattle and Hum
  7. They remastered Rattle And Hum to bluray quality because of the same reason (even though it was filmed in a mix of 16mm -for the documentary footage- and 35mm -for the concert footage- ) so I guess they would be able to upscale it to 4K no problem – if there was a market to justify the cost, which I doubt.

Red Rocks 83, Sydney 93, Mexico 97, Boston 01 and Slane 01 were videotaped (not film taped) so they just CAN'T be remastered to any better quality than what we have; Red Rocks, Sydney and Mexico also can't be rescaled to 16;9 or any other format other than the 4:3 they were originally recorded on. Slane and Boston are already 16;9 but they can't be upscaled to Full HD nor 4K because the original footage is SD by definition.

Everything from Chicago 05 on has been filmed in HD video so these releases could be re-released in higher definition (Chicago, Milan and probably Pasadena probably NOT on 4K though, only in FHD).
  8. Yeah, we need to hear more Christmas songs! There is not enough of them in shopping centers, radio, etc...
  9. Edge should use a Les Paul in IWF. It sounds better.

  10. Almost everything sounds better on a Les Paul, even Beethoven Symphonies.

TAKE THE FUCKING ROOF OFF!! (6:28)

  11. I love how absolutely improptu this is. Larry coming in earlier, the extra oomph in the guitar tone, the audience going nuts, Bono going nuts, me going nuts watching it 2.5 years later at the office
  12. The Rose Bowl version is also fucking awesome.

That's why I wish they did IWF last this year rather than in the first pre-JT set.
