1. How is everyone keeping sane stuck inside?
  2. It's quite challenging I find. I live in a big city with no enforced lockdown so your own health/safety is in the hands of other people's behavior.. That makes going out the door stressy and somewhat scary as well.
  3. In Florida (Tampa specifically) we are able to go outside still. Walmart, Target and grocery stores are having reduced hours... where they used to be 24 hours they are now open 8am to 7:30pm. Restaurants are still open but are only serving customers thru drive thru and take out. No sitting inside allowed. Gas stations are still open and the prices of has is CHEAP!! We are getting more and more notifications that we may be going on a true lockdown... they say that you will only be able to drive somewhere for a need. I don’t know why people aren’t doing that already?

We have a golf cart and live in a neighborhood that has running trails and golf cart trails, we do this to keep sane. Go for a walk or ride. I do not believe the lock down will literally lock people inside of their homes but just keep people away from busy areas, shopping and restaurants, that really the only areas that would be “packed” with people. The malls and schools closed last week. We aren’t like a NYC where there are hundreds of people walking on the streets.

    Very eerie though.
  4. I'm living up north alone due to work. Normally it isn't bad because I am work during the day and then do social things in the evening. However now the thought of WFH throughout the day and then not being able to do anything in the evening is really starting to take effect on me. Don't even have a garden I can escape to. Expect the UK to go on lockdown soon which will make it even harder to go outside.

  5. Is it true that the Italians replaced the flag of the European Union with the Chinese flag?

What I think would be the best compromise is a (short) "social lockdown". You then are allowed to go outside by yourself (or with people that live in the same house). And you're allowed to be outside with 1 person that's not from your household (if you keep 6ft distance). Inside stores etc max. 1 person from any household. Open stores longer (instead of shorter) to spread the # of people inside stores.

Everything else prohibited. That will be tough, but it keeps people from going insane from staying in or getting scared to go to a store. All depends on how people cooperate though. Spain and Italy are beyond that point, with strict lockdowns and very high fines. In Holland, UK for example that could still work. Germany has this social lockdown in place as of yesterday I think.
  7. European flag taken down and Chinese flag being put up?
  8. Huge news out of Italy today, second day to day lowering of new cases and deaths, meaning that the quarantine may be working. This is the best possible news we can be getting right now!

Holland just announced more and stricter measures until June 1st. Main is that more shops are allowed to close (and be covered by the government) and any social gathering is prohibited. We're still allowed to go outside to get things or exercise, but just by yourself or with people that live in your household. You still may be with 1 other person (not from the household) outside for a walk if you keep the 1,5m distance.

Holland's growth in cases/deaths also declined today, as in Italy. Not sure about other countries. Wildly guessing here.. but are UK's main measures 5-7 days behind on on NL?

Probably similar to the USA so roughly 14 days behind Italy, not exactly sure about NL.
