    It was a stunning set... brilliantly shot & crafted.

    It was so good.that at the end I was left somewhat with a sense of melancholy & loss. What an artist, unique, and gone forever but so alive & assured at Glasto.

    The final song applies to many of us....I didn't know it either.

    Yeah they tried too hard to make it a U2 show as opposed to a festival gig they brought extra screens an extended catwalk and brought in Declan Lowney to direct the live TV feed ,they hadn't done a festival since the 80s so they really didn't know what would work and what wouldn't playing to a mainly non U2 audience was always gonna be stepping into the unknown however they did ok but it just wasn't a particularly special gig. Michael Eavis said they are welcome to come back anytime which would be great as I'd say they would be better prepared and know more about how to approach it.
    Good point about the U2 set. It was disappointing, seemed a bit nervy & laboured & lacked some of the joy, certainly lacked the swagger & connection you normally get. I would like to see them back.

    There is plenty of dirge at Glasto... they still stand out.

    Earl Slick was on fire too. And it was great to hear Absolute Beginners too.

    As for I'm Afraid of Americans...I ain't that so true at the moment.
  6. Based on all the posts above I found Bowie's appearance at Glastonbury on Spotify and gave it a listen for the first time today. Didn't know a few songs but liked what I heard.
