RS didn’t have a proper hit since Anybody Seen my baby ... 22years ... yet they still sell stadiums at ridiculous prices ... it’s just the way it is At some point every major band losses the top-spots on hit lists ... lets just hope we will not get Boston audio as a live show in the box that would be so U2ish!
Boston DVD would be a let down.

  6. After 9/11, it was almost like ATYCLB was released a 2nd time. It got a 2nd round of sales, radio/video hits, promo appearances on Leno and Letterman, and it all coincided with the 2nd US leg. And they pretty much rode that wave all the way through a 2nd Black Friday/Christmas shopping season, to the Super Bowl and the Grammys in Feb 2002.

I remember Walk On and SIAM had new music videos in rotation on MTV and the like, which was footage from the aftermath of 9/11. Images of the statue of Liberty, Firefighters helping people, US military personnel, etc. Obviously we all wish the events of 9/11 had never taken place. But it was still amazing to see how the album took on a new meaning later in it's cycle.
  7. Maybe they will commermeate those events with the release. Superbowl was huge for U2.
  8. Man, memories are flooding back from those days. I was 15, a freshman in high school. Hearing about the towers getting hit by the planes. It hadn’t really hit me how major it was till my church had a special 1 hour service in the middle of the week in the evening and just hearing from all the adults in my congregation was a real eye opener. 2001-2002. The year of songs about peace & kicking terrorist ass.
  9. 2001-2002, the year of U2 and Toby Keith.

9/11 was the most impactful event in the 21st Century up until Coronavirus. I just think Covid19 has been more impactful.
  11. The impacts of Covid19 will not be fully realized until time has passed. Overall, at it's best, it's just a frustrating and yet dull time to be alive. People are weary and uninspired, and at least in the US, our country is very much divided. It's like a typical election year on acid and steroids. After 9/11, as tragic as it was, there was a sense of community and people coming together. Covid has produced the opposite of that.

Covid has been more impactful on a global scale. Covid + Trump has just made the US a side show in the stupid circus...
