It's worked out for some bands quite well, hasn't it?
  4. I play guitar, piano, and occasionally sing backing vocals. My and one of my friends "experiment", but we're definitely not a band, lol. Kinda hard considering there's only two of us, with him playing Guitar, Drums, Bass and Vocals, and me playing Guitar, and Piano. We usually play covers, like U2, Nirvana, Zeppelin, etc. But we've written a few short pieces of music.

What kind are you playing now, Harry?

Cool - I think £500 may be pushing it a bit though, but at the moment I'm just playing a Ridgewood Strat. with 3 singles (as you'd probably expect, being a copy lol), but I'm looking for something with humbuckers, I'm probably thinking a Gibson/Epiphone. When my mate (who has an black Epiphone LP, which is VERY nice) came over during the week, I was fascinated by how distinctly different 2 guitars can sound. I never really thought much of it until recently, but I'm not only looking for another one because I just want humbuckers lol, I want another guitar because I think it's time to look into getting another one...if that makes any sense (aswell as being for sheer aesthetic pleasure lol)
  7. I'm planning on buying a guitar as soom as I get a decent job. I was thinking a copy LP.

A buddy of mine has an Epiphone Les Paul (a $400 version of the Gibson), he hates it and is getting rid of it. I've heard that the only LPs worth getting are the Gibson ones.

I have a Mexican-made Fender Telecaster that I picked up off eBay for $300, it is the finest instrument I could ever imagine.

Hmm, perhaps, like I say my friend has an Epiphone LP and to me, it felt and sounded great, so I dunno, I guess it's a matter of taste aswell.

    $300?! Not bad going mate!

I'm no guitar guru by any means, but I've heard this same thing. It's tempting because the copies (Epiphones as well) are so much more affordable, but everyone that I know that has the real deal are so glad they ponied up the cash and went for the Gibson Les Paul.
  11. OK...you guys know I'm no topic opener...so I dug this one out to post a video! As some of you know I play classical guitar...so here it goes:
