During The Pogues hiatus I went to see Shane MacGowan several times with his other band The Popes in small venues. Before the show you would usually see him asleep in the bar blind drunk - BUT - when he went on stage he always remembered every word of every song !! I don't know what Bono's problem is. He's even using the teleprompter for his speeches and band intros. Godamn it we even know the speeches and band intros already !!
