    exactly.
    It used to be
    Bad-Bullet-Running-Streets-Pride, now, it's
    Wave-Bullet-Hands-Pride-BDay.

Streets is still a special song, even the most special song in their catalog, but in this tour it has taken the back seat, and that's good since this is a different show.
  3. Interesting way to look at it

  5. You guys are lucky eltimbomofo was at the Chicago show. He takes some of the best video of anyone I know. We've been friends since 2009 when he shot a lot of the final leg 360 shows which ended up in multi-cams. We used to trade exposure setting tips with each other

Nice, and now he shoots in 4k!

I know how you feel about how the second half of the show has as strong a a structure as the first half, but I still disagree and say it's a greatest hits section (not a criticism).

For that reason alone I don't think Streets needs to take a back seat. It can be important and the show still retains the greatness. Just move it around and don't have a sad and unrelated segment before it. Streets is best consumed either with nothing before it (opener) or with something perfect seguing into it. That mother child thing isn't it.

Imagine seeing that tune as an opener these days? That'd be weird and possibly awesome. But Miracle is workin Magic.
  7. haven't seen this song's peformance since the opening night (and only got bootlegs until san jose and the club gig) and holy shit. this is so, so intense. I absolutely love them for reinventing this song like that, it's effing GREAT.
  8. New torrent of the first Chicago night now in our torrent section.

Well, I'm not even talking about narrative right now, and I won't do it in this post.

I'm just saying that the show right now is not "focused" on Streets... in previous tours that has been -more or less- the song they build the show around, and this time they decided to build the show up towards the Pride-BDay combo. And they're using Streets to channel the message about RED/Africa.

I agree that Streets would sound better in the "premium" spot, but then Pride wouldn't sound as good as now and they would be basically repeating all their previous tours.

I don't think that those changes were a mistake or a product of they just messing around aimlessly with the set lits. I believe that they knew what they were doing and decided to take the risk of changing the traditional climax of the show and use the most powerful song as an advertisement for whatever they believe.

If I long for Streets being played in its traditional spot, I wouldn't be enjoying Pride-Bday as much as I'm doing it now.

About Streets, I don't mind about being in the encore, but please stop talking during the intro. Talk before Paul Simon's song and continue using the screen to convey the message, but once M&CR starts, just don't talk until Streets is over.
