1. Attempts were made to make the pitch...but it never came together.

I'd love to find myself stuck in an elevator for 45 seconds with Edge and I'd talk him into signing onto Nugs (company that handles Pearl Jam, Phish, Springsteen, etc.) for live audio releases.
  2. Maybe have some saved every year, cross your fingers. But the editions are dropper.
I think that would be too much luck.

I think if it’s unrealistic to get a high number of people involved then it’s just a one off really per tour between a group of people, so I guess it’s a case of matching up the tapers who would be interested with the shows that they could do and finding out how many people would pay. There’s 32 shows on the European tour it would have been better if we could have got it all covered but maybe there isn’t the numbers to make it affordable.
I too think that if people want to do such a thing, it should start small. But Europe usually gets good coverage. I would be more interested in making sure the upcoming 4 New York (area) shows will be covered:

    2018-06-25 New York, New York
    2018-06-26 New York, New York
    2018-06-29 Newark, New Jersey
    2018-07-01 New York, New York

Maybe it is all too short notice @hoserama, but I suppose we don't need that many people to give it a realistic change. Perhaps some folks at U2T are also willing to participate?
  4. I had made an attempt to reach out to as many tapers as possible to try and have the NA leg covered, I had some personal stuff going on and basically gave up trying to organize around March.

No reason it can’t be done, a minimal amount of shows in large cities, you would think it could be planned out.

Organization and communication is the key, discussions before included fund raising or providing a ticket to a taper, hoserama / sharebear would know better but I think that idea is the best option, still no guarantee but putting someone with experience at every show sure doesn’t hurt the chances.

Apologies for not pursuing this endeavor further, I just lost the motivation and at the time wasnt going to any shows, hard for someone not recording to ask others to do so... but I did attend a show and at least I can say I did record and contribute to the community (Nashville).

Anyone and everyone can. Make the effort and at least try, or don’t complain when show “X” doesn’t show up.

I would be in for the New York shows if you think that would be a better place to start. Just to give a little background into why I’m really into this whole thing. A while back I had a chat with hoserama about getting into recording shows, I may have mentioned it on one of the threads too. This came about because I was in the financial position to get equipment. However, looking further into it with the risks about getting gear confiscated and the overall sacrifice to the show, particularly to someone like me who is a worrier, it wasn’t worth it for me. Plus the u2 shows in London are really supposed to be a relaxing time for me and my fiancée to enjoy as a couple and I just feel like this would put a dampener on it. Anyway all of this has allowed me to have a greater appreciation for what the tapers sacrifice, not that I really ever underestimated it but I just didn’t think about it too much, and I think at least if I’m contributing financially towards it I feel like I’m at least helping the cause in some way as I’m selfishly not wanting to sacrifice my own gig experience for it. Just thought I’d share my reasoning behind getting on board with this.
  6. Not sure if this is the right topic but off the 360 tour IEMs which is generally considered having the best overall sound? I realize that can be subjective but was looking for some pointers to start with. Thanks!
  7. Raw iems or mixes?

From the top of my head, San Sebastian, Mexico2, Denver and Anaheim are all perfect or almost perfect. One of the Wembleys (can't recall which) is very very good too.
  9. UPDATE 1:

Thanks to Philly based taper Peter W., we now have a recording of 2018-06-13 Philadelphia PA
    - Wells Fargo Center (1st night) up on our show page / audio tab

It's a decent recording made with Shure MV iOS externals connected to an iPhone X. Sound is clear and only slightly "distant," but near-by screams & clappings could take you by surprise... Some audience chatter as well, but mostly in between songs. 3-3.5 stars

For now mp3 only, but I've asked the taper if he's willing to share his lossless too. Will keep you posted
  10. UPDATE 2:

And we now also have the 2018-06-06 Montreal 2 show in our database, thanks to @mediaaddict

The recording is made by yul243 with the Roland R-05 (Internal Mics). I think it's another good recording (3 to 3.5 stars), but I have to admit
that I didn't listen that much to it, so please write you review and share your thoughts on the quality, if you like.
  11. Either I guess. I would rather a good raw IEM than a poorly mixed one. For example I listened to one of the Mexico shows and I prefered the IEM to the matrix.

    Cool thank you!
