Experience and Innocence tour
Legs (3): Promo tour, Leg 1: North America, Leg 2: Europe
Shows: 75
  1. Is anyone concerned that, if Bono hadn't lost his voice in night 2 they were going to repeat the same setlist, song for song, in back to back shows, in the same city, and it was only night 2 of the leg?
They rehearsed for only 3 days or so before this leg, and there are no other songs rehearsed that we know. Where will the variation of this setlist occur? The Red Flag Day spot?

Don't think there will be any variation. Red Flag Day seems to be a staple now and was well received in both Berlin shows. You may get 1 new song in the setlist for a city with 4 nights, but wouldn't really count on it. The band want to tell their narrative and seem pretty certain on that. Baring in mind 80 - 90% of people only go to one show, there's no need to change anything.

Yeah, that was a little concerning when I read it.

I think some folks would be happy to see SATS come back, but it's tough to see them dropping SOL.

The only other logical change is to make EBTTRT a rotational spot, and bring back Desire.

I can't see them dropping RFD, but I wonder if there's a chance that Gloria would replace IWF. I can't see them putting Gloria in the EBTTRT spot. Probably not ABOY either.

That concern went out the window for me during last leg. Anyone actually expected anything different in Europe?
  5. I expected 1 song variation like Gloria/ABOY.
Not repeat the same thing already in Night 2 of the leg, and in the same city.
  6. RFD is great live and should have been a staple right from the start of the US leg, just one of the various baffling decisions by the band on setlist selection.

SOL is a snoozefest in its current form, especially after YTBT, it's the only spot I can see any variation in.
  7. I was ready for the same set on night 2 and wasn’t bothered at all, was looking forward to hearing them all again and listening out for bits I didn’t take in on night 1.
  8. I think it's bloody lazy
  9. You wouldn't get this with a fantastic band like James.
They messed up a few times during their recent Electric Fields gig and Tim Booth told the crowd "would you rather hear the same churned out gig night after night or see a real band willing to change the set every night'.
