Can't imagine a holiday as after Dublin (Berlin) the tour is finished anyway.

Bono's political activities? Family obligations? Any clues?
    A break.

Did the same between Madrid and Copenhagen.
  2. Yep. Edge is already in France and I guess most of them are.
Adam has a small child so it makes sense for them to have longer breaks
  3. Hey! There's no need for that

Actually, there probably were touring plans for week between Madrid and Copenhagen.
  5. There were indeed! They were talking to venues in Vienna and Athens but it didn't happen in the end.
  6. I don’t know why but the mention of negotiations with venues has got me thinking how much profit is actually in this tour for the band? They will have saved money by using the same stage from I&E but to transport all that and pay people seems quite an expensive thing to put on, then there’s the venue hire which is why i think my mind started turning to this subject. What are they bringing in each night maybe £2.5-£3million on ticket sales? (That would be 20000 sales at £125 - £150 average seems about right) it doesn’t seem like there margins are actually that great or am I exaggerating the costs of putting on the show in the first place?

They got a new screen and new technology, and at least the E stage is new, the band spends an absolute fortune on the technology but they're happy to do that - I'm not sure they make too much from each show but each show adds up
  8. The tech is only a one off cost.

It’s transporting it all over the place which is expensive. Although they’ve cut down on the number of trucks needed from 2015.

  9. Yes but I assume you plan the tour based on availability of arenas, not the other way around. They could have planned the initial Berlin days in the Belfast - Dublin gap (assuming the Mercedes Benz arena would be available) and then start the tour a week later.

I think it's probably not due to venue availability but some other activities we are not aware of.

Only a few people would know the books. The rest is speculation.

Do anyone know if they use all the same staging (screen, stages, etc) in Europe that they used in North America? I started wondering about that with the JT30 and now this tour. Didn't the 360 Tour have several versions of the stage setup... It is one thing to transport all that around a continent, but another to get it across the Atlantic...
