I always thought it sounded like "shut up bono and fuck off!" regardless, one of my favorite vertigo moments. those 2 seattle shows are great

    Frank Sinatra
    I give you MTV demographic
    You're welcome

    Salman Rushdie
    I give you decibels

    Goodbye Squeegie
I hope they give you whales

    Goodbye Micheal

What's "MTV demographic" ? What's it got to do with Sinatra?
What does he mean by giving rushdie "decibels"?
    Who's Squeegie?
    Who's Michael?

Thanks (you know I don't open new topics...this had to do with sentences in a live show!)

I always thought the "MTV demographic" line was just kind of a joke for Frank, considering that was not his audience, and he had just done that duet with Bono which was getting airplay on mtv. as for squeegie, no clue. i figured Michael was Michael Jackson, considering he mentions him on other Zooropa leg boots (even though this is technically from a Zoomerang show)

    200th post!

The line about MTV and Sinatra is a reference to the popularity of the channel and accessibility of music I think.

I always assumed the Squeegie line was "I hope they give you Wales"; as in my home country!! But I don't know the link.

I agree that Michael is Michael Jackson.
  11. its a serious warning i but its sounds very funny to me!!
