1. Because i do.
I miss the days when U2 made gigantic stadium destroying tours that really blew people minds.
I miss the days when U2 would take a giant financial chance, and really show the balls to design a show not everyone might get at first glance.
I miss the old inventive Aesthetics of Popmart, the screen graphics, and the fact that no matter how big it got, unlike every other tour, it was a tour...kinda only for us.

Think about it, the media hated and misunderstood Popmart.
Whereas we loved it, as we understood its ironic play on consumerism.
We understood the somewhat hidden message, and felt the Titanium soul in every song.

Sure it wasn't perfect, setlists grew rigid, and voices grew rough, but somehow...this didn't really matter...

Maybe in one future tour we will see the screen light up for Mofo, and maybe even see the return of everybodys favourite interstellar fruit...

    So Popmart, Happy 10th Anniversary

    You've more than Earned it.
  2. I'm with you my friend
    to the end
i miss popmart more than anybody!
  3. I love each tour for it's own characteristics and setlists and staging. PopMart was a mindf*&k! It was meant to be a mindf*&k! And I loved it!

But must say that overall I do prefer indoors and up close and personal of the US Elevation and Vertigo tours.

Same here. But I do miss Popmart also.
  5. I'm so disappointed that I missed the Popmart tour when it rolled through my area back then....Given the chance, I'd LOVE to see them play a huge outdoor stadium....as long as I'm close to the stage!

    I completely agree!
  7. i didn't get it in 1997...

but popmart is the #1 reason i continue to worship (not just enjoy) u2.

u2, esp. bono but all of em are ballsy and ambitious, and most people are put off by that, but even if that causes strife with the media / critics / "powers-that-be" in the short term, that is what truly makes U2 (or anyone else for that matter) great... the willingness to pursue that vision in their heads 100% without giving a f**k what anybody else thinks about them.
