1. Nice link Gary. Still takes you to the App Store though.
It has pwn and all that stuff Drew goes on about. Still not brave enough to do it myself - fearful of fucking it all up and buggering my glorious touch.
  2. ....and the thumb becomes very numb...

...plenty of freebies not just the Apps Store, have a good butchers.

  4. Not as ergonomic as a clickwheel and I'll certainly not be getting a touchscreen mobile anytime soon.
  5. Another massively cool feature is downloading podcasts directly to the iPod. AWESOME

  6. Is that a 2.2 feature only? Also, you can get Google Street View as well.

  7. No idea. There's a podcasts tab in itunes and voila

  8. New feature that with the latest firmware update. Brilliant.

Agree about the numbness to a certain extent but only with long periods of times on games. Depends on the thumb size I guess....

Will keep looking. Any specific recommendations Gary? You jailbroken yours?

  9. That would have been good on the touch. It's pretty much the same identical operating system, with a few phone-centric features ripped out, so why not.

Genius is an odd thing. A lot of songs just aren't recognised, including A Bigger Bang by the Rolling Stones and any AC/DC tracks. The latter might be understandable, though - but at least it takes a guess, and sometimes it does a pretty acurate job.
  10. Right Drew.

I have 'QuickPwn'. What do I do now??

(PS Apologies that I know you've answered this before. Words of one syllable would be good )

I hope you're ready to rock 'n roll. I'll make it as easy as humanly possible. If I didn't stuff it up, chances are others can't. I was scared shitless, actually. Not now, though.

Alright...BACKUP FIRST - All music, bookmarks, videos, whatever. This cannot be stressed enough.

    - Then install and open QuickPwn and plug in your touch and make sure it's charged to at least 50%.

    - Click the Next arrow.

    - Choose your iPod type - not iPhone or 3G, obviously.

    - Click to install only Installer and Cydia - don't worry too much about Boot Logos - unless you want to. They just look tacky.

    - Then you'll have to put into device firmware upgrade mode. It tells you how to do this and walks you right through the DFUing process.

    - The iPod should restart and in about two shakes of a lamb tail, you should be Jailbroken. Everything will be back at default, but it can all be re-synced over afterwards.
