1. Yes, if you export at 320kbps you might not hear it though. Just telling to be aware of the fact.
If you join to flacfiles you wont loose quality. A good option is to join 2 flac files and export to mp3, then you only have loss of data only once in the chain.

Again using mp3s can be the easiest solution just be aware of the loss. So dont do things like that over and over again to the same data
  2. think i'm gonna order myself a desktop. Quadcore top of the list, and Windows 7. Hopefully 3-4gb of RAM to begin with and 500gb hard drive. Should get that for around £400 I hope

Remember if you want to use that full 4GB RAM and even higher you'll have to go for 64-bit Windows.

  5. Yes, 32-bit doesnt have any advantages. All new hardware works great in 64-bit. Be sure to check if your older hardware has 64-bit drivers. That is required for them to work in 64bit Windows versions.

One would surely hope new 2009-2010 hardware would have 64-bit drivers.

Remember Vista and the hardware drivers debacle? What fun that was.

Yes, but older scanner, printers, tv cards etc dont necessary have 64bit drivers. My scanner doesnt, I got it to work in a Virtual Machine though.
But if you dont have old hardware without 64bit drivers then its a big 'GO' for a 64bit windows version

On a side note: retagging my whole bootleg collection using Foobar2000. Amazing how much you can automate I am now parsing all album tags for city/venues/countries and putting them in a seperate field. Just needed to create one rule and it does the rest on its own.

Thank god for Remy, he made me a foobar2000 fanatic
  8. buying yet another pair of CX300's. The new precision model. Awesome for £12.50. Current set cannot be found sadly

  9. theyre good, but strangely enough not hearing as much as with my normal apple earphones...

  10. Maybe a silly question but you used the right earbuds?

  11. I am. I could hear the guitar riddle during MoS (studio version) with my iPod earphones but not with my Sennheiser CX300. Another advantage the iPod earphone has is the remote controll.... ideal for on the bike. But apart from that it's Sennheiser all the way..
