It's a risk they take, Microsoft only benefits though because WP7 gets more attention. Android, iOS and WP7 will dominate the market even more from now on.
Windows gets a lot. Mainly Maps though. Nokia invested over $10 billion in Ovi Maps over the past 5 years and have just handed it to Microsoft.
Something will need to plug the gap in market share left by Symbian but I dare say all of it will go to Android. iOS won't expand much further and WP7 will see a bump.
Who knows though but it looks like the N8 will be my last Nokia device. But I don't like Android either. Not much choice for me.
