  2. On a different matter, I just ordered a laptop, should get it in a few days (hopefully before the end of the week). I'm sick of my oldie-but-goldie Toshiba A300 shutting down when it gets a little hot and I couldn't be arsed to diassembly it in order to change the thermal paste, so a new one was the way to go.

    I don't need anything fancy and I just want it to be as light as possible and usable for my online job, so I've gone for an HP Sleekbook 15-b102SS. I chose a sleekbook because I don't use CD/DVDs too often/anymore, so I could live without the extra space that the disk player needs. This laptop is stunningly thin (only slightly thicker than a usb port) but the specs are pretty amazing for the price: AMD A4-4355M at 1,9 GHz proccessor, 6 GB of RAM, 500GB of HDD, AMD Radeon HD 7400G, USB 3.0. All of this fitted into a machine that's 2 cm wide and weighs 1.9 kg. And for 350€ new.



    Only downside is that it will come with Windows 8 so I need to work out a way to install Windows 7 from a USB stick.

  3. Sure was. Smashed the screen when on the beer though. Still using it but lining up a switch to a Nexus 4.

  4. Be very careful with the Nexus 4 as I have smashed it twice now – once was drink inflicted, the other was while walking to work. It's an incredibly slippery phone and it will attempt to slide out of your hand as soon as you take it out of your pocket. Get some sort of cover for it or even insurance.

    Saying that, the Nexus 4 is a fantastic device. Apart from it being a very sensitive phone, it has impressed on many levels.

  6. Yea the 4 would definitely need to be sheathed. The GNex took plenty of drops but when you are drunk they seem to drop in the most perfect of ways to break. I'd get another but the design is showing it's age. I hate touchwiz on Samsung and the lock button being on top of the HTC One is a no no. Leaves only the Nexus 4. Might get away with the 8gb version too keeping the cost down. Google Play music streaming has been working well.
  7. One drop and the Nexus 4 is broken. The first time it was dropped, it done this double flip on its side then landed on the screen. There were two action points coming from the side where the screen had cracked. It is an extremely fragile phone. The back of the phone is also glass so that can crack too.

    If it does smash, the cheapest repair is Carphone Warehouse for £79.99 or you could do it yourself for £60.
  8. AMOLED screens are way to expensive. They are pretty but I don't think I'll buy another OLED Screened phone. I'll keep an eye on the N4 prices. There is no other phone that I fancy though I am looking forward to this budget iPhone. Doubt it will be cheap though.

  12. Lack of banking apps, terrible podcast apps, terrible notifications and still well below par multitasking.
