  3. My memberships run out in exactly one week and I guess I'm done with u2com.

    Look what we got for our money from all these "subscriber specials" and content we should get. It's pretty much useless.

    And really, none of the gifts ever really got me. From The Ground Up was nice, I didn't have to actually buy the book. I kept that one. And the North Side Story book. Gave away the rest. Posters, Vinyls, and everything else.

    If another tour happens and they might play somewhere I'd like to attend, I am still free to pay another 50$ for a single ticket code.
    There's enough chances within the U2 community to get face value tickets outside the presales.
    Until then - I save the 80$ for these two accounts.
  4. Hahaha, this made me laugh hard (but you'd be surprised to see how many hundreds of fans resubscribe blindly every year no matter what... the U2 Friends facebook group is flooded with them!).
  5. Why do I have a feeling that next years gift is going to be awful and completely not worth the wait. Hope I’m wrong obviously but it would just be typical u2.com to have all this messing around with ‘just chose 2019 and we’ll give you 2020’ what an absolute joke from one of the biggest bands in the world. Never mind that then there’s people who still haven’t got last years gift, I’m one of the lucky ones in that respect but its almost literally unbelievable that they could be so late, only it’s not that hard to believe in fact because it’s what u2.com do, there’s a good way to run a site and then there’s the u2.com way. They need to realise this isn’t like a new album release being delayed, that’s up to them, they aren’t obliged to give us new material but if they want to have a good fan club with happy members then really they are obliged to offer us a new gift on time and send them out to us in a sensible time. As customer service experiences go it’s one of the most frustrating things, it’s my favourite band, I want be in there fan club but they really provide a terrible service, why can’t they just get it right?
  6. My situations a bit different though. I'm trying to con them out of 2 gifts (because of their incompetence and because of the U2-3D mess up).

    I've moved out my parents house so I changed my shipping address 3 times (to my new address). They confirmed that the address has been changed. They confirmed the gift will be sent to the new address. They still send it to the old address. It arrives at my parents house, they confirm its there. Not really a biggie as I could pick it up the next time I'm down.

    However that's not the point. What if I didn't know anyone who lived at my old address, and they still sent it there even though they confirmed 3 times it will be sent to the new address. So now I'm making them send me another copy to the correct address and who knows, maybe in a couple years time I'll have two copies of live songs of innocence and experience.

    EDIT: And this is all after the U2-3D mess up. Where I had already received the gift, my subscription was up for renewal but because 2019 gift wasn't announced yet I asked them if I could change the gift to that when I renew. They said yes no problem. I renewed. They shipped me another copy of U2-3D, when I questioned this they said "because its already shipped we can't change you to the 2019 gift" so I ended up with 2 U2-3Ds, and then had to pay another $40 to get the 2019 gift even though my subscription was still valid for 12 months! So now I think I'm valid until something like 2022 but will have to pay another $40 every year to get the gift?
  7. U2 3D was one of the biggest trolls ever. Everyone thought they’d finally released the 3D tunes/video, turned out it was this shitty remix release

  9. If your subscription was due to run out at the end of the month take a look at your account. They’ve now moved it to the end of February for me, this probably suggests there will be no gift announcement until next month at the earliest.
