Actually the new "source" is talking about July 25th, while the french guys were there on Edge's birthday.
Time will tell if it's made up or not. We'll see if he/she posts the recordings...

surprising that the band are openly playing the music out in the open like this. My spirits have been a little dampened but these sources could be a load of bull. Time. . . . . .

They probably also played it to some journalist in Bono's car, to Jay-Z and a hairdresser, so why not in a beach-house? They did that in the past, too. It's a good way to keep fans interested and it's free promotion...

Whether the people were really there is another question...

true. Could be bullshit. One thing though, whos's likely to be more honest about the music, a fan or the band who want it to sell millions?

But who's more likely to try and leak something to the rest of the world prior to the impending release?

Well, U2 is known to "unintentionally" leak new material to the public...

The mentioned July Clips are there, btw.: http://u2start.com/topic/4280/

No, I mean the stuff that "leaked" from Hansa studios prior to Achtung Baby (not the salome outtakes), the "hacked" Webcam prior to Pop, the beach clips, the "lost" Bomb-Cd, etc...

What prior to AB? I knew about the hacked webcam and the beach clips (2004's set) and the lost CD. I think they're *trying* to be more careful now after HTDAAB. That would have been a scary few months with thinking all your work is gonna leak to the general public before you release it.

Bits and pieces of Montgomery's Visit, Mercy,... stuff that ended up on the Work-sessions compilation later.
I don't think they're more careful now. They blast out the new songs over the beach for example... As I said before, that guarantees that fans drool for more stuff and it's great promotion. Very subtle and effective - and cost-free.
