But then again I haven't really gone looking for good live versions of Streets, just listened to the song from the various shows downloaded. Eg. was listening to Streets from Zoo TV Sydney show as I wrote this.

Perhaps someone can recommend an excellent live version of Streets, ( I suspect it will be from the JT Tour)

Both Elevation DVDs (Boston and Slane) are top shelf IMO.
  2. So the JT/ Lovetown tour versions aren't good? Thats interesting seeing as the JT tour versions of WOWY, Exit, ISHFWILF, In God's Country are usually the best live versions of the songs.

I'll have a listen to your suggestions.

I think Streets has gotten better with every tour, it has grown so much...Elevation might take the cake for being the most spiritual, but Vertigo gave it a nice location....and Adam and Bono together at the tip if the ellipse is just magical

  4. Hahaha, I didn't say that! Streets has gotten better with age I reckon. Well, except for Vertigo.

What to do on the next tour? I am cool with them trying something different that they've not yet done.

I think there are a number of songs that could fit in nicely...

right there man that long bulid up Gotta go watch now lol

  6. yeah that segue is magical..hell they all are, Please => Streets; Bad / All I Want Is You => Streets = magic

Pride shouldn't be played before Streets...that song needs a strong support for it, like the aforementioned songs....though I have gotten into the Pride into Streets segue, it lacks the emotional strength like the others have
  7. I've listened to Slane, and Zoo TV Stockholm performances. Slane is ok, but doesn't offer anything over the album version.

Check out the Dublin Lovetown shows. If that's doesn't sway you, I don't think much will. The first live version of WTSHNN that I came across was the Boston DVD, and I still get shivers everytime I hear it. I would also recommend Slane but judging by what you've already said, that's wasted energy lol. For me, the best live renditions of Streets were LT/ZooTV. I love the JT versions too, but they're a little bit too raw. With later versions, they really benefitted from Edge tweaking some things here and there, because his guitar really got some oomph post-JT. I'm not a big fan of PopMart or Vertigo renditions, but they have their plus points and there are some good performances hanging around, e.g. Cardiff 2005. Gerard recommended that to me and the outro is just immense.

Well, I disagree in the most part re. WOWY and ISHFWILF because, for me, ZooTV was the pinnacle for WOWY live (although I'll still happily listen to any version) and I'm just not that big on ISHFWILF in JT. Dunno what it is, but it doesn't grab me like later versions do. And for Exit and In God's Country, considering both songs have only been played in full 8 times altogether outside of the JT tour, it wouldn't be that much of a surprise to reach such a conclusion

Don't forget Wembley Popmart and Earls Court Elevation

  12. Don't worry lol, I haven't, but I mean that I'm associating with bootlegs that I have. Were I to DL Wembley PopMart, I'd treat it as your show AND my mate's dad's show lol...
