I could go for that. Outside of Desire, Angel of Harlem, and All I Want is You, RH never made it out of Lovetown. Although highly unlikely, it would be great to hear some of it live.
  2. Helps to have the song before end on the same note or chord as the lead in. This is why Bad and Running to Stand Still work so seamlessly.

Actrobat end on an Aminor. Streets starts on D. While it could work it wouldn't be as seamless. And then there is that whole, "They've never played it live" thing.

Whatever the case, I am sure that U2 will try a few ideas and come up with something good. I agree that the red background is one that most fans love and associate with the song. And Bono could even tie it to the (RED) Campaign and have phone numbers for (RED) and One.Org come up on the red background, for the fans to make texts too.

But while many of us prefer the red background, the flags (like it or not) do symbolize where the genesis of the song comes from and what it is about.

if emotion had a sound, that intro at Slane would be what it sounded like. Crazy to say theres no emotion there. It's all emotion

For sure, Slane was one of the most emotionally exhilirating concerts they've ever done.

To say that his voice was at its lowest ebb during Elevation is rubbish, in my opinion, but that's what it's all about - opinion. His voice was in the doldrums during Pop, and I'd rather listen to an Elevation show than some of the less vibrant Vertigo shows around.

I agree, which is partly why I think RTSS is the best segue - during ZooTV, they both got played in Db so it was a piece of piss to string together a nice segue.

AIWIY and Bad/40 worked also because they were played (and finished) in Ab, so at least they were in the same key whenever they were used as a segue into Streets, as with Please (Bb minor). I've been advocating COBL as a new segue into Streets, but the problem I've just thought of is that, whilst COBL was played in Ab over the Vertigo tour, Streets went back up to D (as it is on the album and as it was during the JT tour), which could pose a problem. Of course, they could bring COBL up to A, which wouldn't seem completely absurd in my opinion because I figure that the return to Streets in D was inspired by Bono's voice improving, but such a segue would require a change of key for one of the songs to realistically see such a segue happen. I think it's possible that, if they're up for using Streets midset and using a traditional segue, that we could see a return of AIWIY >> Streets - on the last few performances of AIWIY during Vertigo, they pushed it up to A, which would suit any segue if they keep Streets in D.

Another one I just thought of as possible would be UTEOTW >> Streets, seeing as they play UTEOTW in G nowadays (and finishes on that)...I was about to say WGRYWH since that's played in G but a) they seem to prefer (judging by the last tour) to play it acoustically and b) it finishes on a C chord.

    I liked the flags lol.
  4. I hope they'll use One Tree Hill as lead into Streets. Imagine the 'Oh great ocean' part mixed into Streets...

That could definitely work. Would send chills down the spine when followed by the Edge's intro. Still gunning for COBL though or perhaps even a new song!

And something tells me they wouldn't play One Tree Hill every night like they do for Streets.

I like the idea, but again, it would be musically a bit harder with B/C and Db/D not being keys that would naturally go together...but it could work with a bit of tinkering, I suppose...

I don't have guitar know-how that much, but I'm sure Edge can work it out. I'll call him tonight about it...
  8. I'm not really a fan of Streets live, ie I haven't heard a live version that I liked over the album version. They lack the atmosphere of the atmosphere, and there is more noise, ( in that the instruments and vocals combine to form a wall of sound, which lacks the elegance and defintion of the album version, I also don't like the coda, when Bono sings Whoa oh oh oh oh

But then again I haven't really gone looking for good live versions of Streets, just listened to the song from the various shows downloaded. Eg. was listening to Streets from Zoo TV Sydney show as I wrote this.

Perhaps someone can recommend an excellent live version of Streets, ( I suspect it will be from the JT Tour)
