  4. zootv sydney had this effect down perfect. i don't know if you can get any better than this..

    this was way back in 92-93 also.. man, talk about ahead of your time and out of the box thinking.

    i do think that the sound from the big huge flashing arena lights may have been from the electrical surge to turn all those lights on at once, just my understanding. if it's not then they certainly made a sound exactly like it..

    side note: dirty day needs to make a serious come back on this tour.. i really love the performance on zootv DVD.. the same TV screens they used for WTSHNName in red were actually switching in liquid motion from neon greens to blue to yellow to red to purple... amazing colors again.. colors for songs.. u2 have got their shit together

    I don't think thelights were the surge but its definitely made to sound like it. On certain boot i've heardthe 'surge' go early

    Surge is like when everything builds up into one big thing (shit explanation, apologies), so in this context, they're referring to the big hum that occurs before Streets when the videos get played on the TV screens and lights start flashing etc. - one theory being that it was all the electricity used to power everything into life. Someone else will probably now come along and give you a much simpler concise explanation, but I was never economical with language lol...
