These types of bands are a dying breed especially with the internet and the fragmentation of rock into so many different aspects. I've never seen the rock scene be so fragmented with the US seemingly going is some direction(god knows what it is - ya I'm talking about neo-punk shite) that is completely different how UK/Europe are going.

U2 are a balance above all that, which can appeal to the masses. They're reliable and a proven success. If you're young or older you can pick and choose from a plethora of the back catalogue to enjoy. The latest of very successful rock bands(post 90s), with the exception of a few, can barely scratch what U2 have done or will do. They all sound the same and do the same thing on every record.

U2 offer you something to sink your teeth into every time.

    Indeed, nice post...agree with you.

  2. As much as I appreciate the compliment mate, being inspired by me is like asking the the Fly to look after your kids for the weekend....

Good to be (temporarily) back How you been??

Edit: The Fly as in Bono/ZooTV, not the mounstrous movie one. I'm more likely to teach your kids social digestion as opposed to...just digesting them.
  3. Good Lord, I so hope Steve doesn't have kids..... Far too young...

    But I digress.
  4. So has anyone heard the new track then?

    Oh dear.

Looks like it was a long shot.....

  5. Human? Interesting track, seems like they developed their style a little further. Sounds good to me.

Welcome! I agree with most of this. However, U2 are not huge in Asia (except maybe Japan) and I dont think its right to say the have conquered the World. Are they that big amongst African communities?? They are not as well known as say Michael Jackson who is known (and his music) by pretty much every person in the enitre world. But in terms of rock groups...yes they are by far the biggest and best.....if anything its because their music isnt commercial pop that they havnt touched all the different communities.

  10. Just saw this thread...won't happen...at least not with The Killers. It would need a really hugh quality band to even threaten U2's place.

U2 will retire before they could ever be surpassed
