1) It's in bad form.
2) It's a sign of insecurity.
3) Punk bands called Led Zeppelin dinosaurs but how many millions applied for the ticket for Led Zeppelin's Dec 2007 O2 Long show?
It's good to see that Brandon Flowers has ambition but he should note that his second album sold worse and got worse reviews than their first.
I like both Killers albums. There is good stuff there. But they've hardly had a "The Unforgettable Fire" much less a "The Joshua Tree" or "Achtung Baby".
Once they've done that... then Brandon would be understood for making such a statement

They're only looking for music that will be able to grab the hold of teenagers now days (most of whom(im not taking a shot at teenagers here, I am one, I'm just saying most) have a very short attention span when it comes to music) and maybe be able to make a couple million over two records. Then after that, woops! Your fired! Your contract is over, teenagers want something new, some new crappy emo album or rap album. Because rap now days sucks too, when rap first came out it was political, intelligent, and it was good new music, now its just about girls and money. And on that note, the videos just give a very bad image for women.
Anyway! As I was saying. Record companies that sign new artists now days aren't looking for a band that "might" have a future, like U2 once did. They're looking for artists that they can thrust into the spotlight and make millions off of for as long as they can milk money out of them. There's probably a lot of artists out there who have the potential to take this so called "pedestal" away from the greats, but they're just not being discovered because they're not part of the shitty mainstream music people listen to now days like Nickelback or Fall out Boy. (I'm sorry if anyone here are fans of most of those new bands, but they suck)
My rant is done.
Alex
And Jake. I'm sorry to say, I haven't given Kings of Leon the time they might deserve, so I'm sorry for commenting on them so negatively earlier. I was basing my comments on that performance I saw on SNL, and from what I saw I didn't enjoy very much. And the Arcade Fire only had one song I enjoyed, I can't remember what it was called. The video was a weird cartoon with weird looking people. Something about a power outage or something?

RMANN83 CHALLENGES U2'S TOP SPOT.
Now, let the endless discussion and dissection begin.
Really now boys and girls, is this necessary? Does any gossip or sensationalist news story that mentions the the letters U and 2 together deserve aknowledgement? We're a better community (us of the U2 fans) than that aren't we?
Don't buy into the hype and please don't aknowledge The Killers (or any other band) obvious attempts at mustering up attention and emotion from U2's large and (hopefully, intelligent) fanbase. We don't need to protect the band, they've been around long before us.
Last I checked, u2start.com wasn't a sensationalist site. So why is this topic gaining so much momentum?
PS - I like The Killers
PSS - Hi U2start, how you been? Sorry I haven't called back. It's not you, its me.
PSSS - Scratch that. It's you![]()

lol But seriously I don't really like the killers ... I think that Coldplay has more chances, but they don't have that wicked\strange think that bands have before becoming good![]()
