People seem to be very heartbroken about the fact that we aren't getting a live CD. Out of the shows they would probably use for such a cd, we already have great quality recordings of them up on this site (Washington, Stockholm, Dublin, Adelaide, Milan, etc.). I don't really understand why this is an issue...
The only things I think could've been done better were a full concert from 92, such as Stockholm or Washington on DVD, not CD. Something along the same lines as the Paris show in the JT remaster. Like I've said before though, maybe there was a good reason to not include them. Or maybe here was something holding them back from using it. They released the Paris show, so why wouldn't they release a Zoo show? I feel as though they would have had something not hindered them from doing so. Sure they have Sydney, but they have to know all of the fans already have it. Maybe they included it because they couldn't include any other concert DVD, so they thought "Well we have to get them A concert DVD.." Or maybe I'm just being an optimist and they just figured "Hey, we already have Sydney all re-done and nice, just include that and we'll save time and money". Who knows. Maybe someone can ask it on that livechat via twitter.
And the second thing, is they should've done Zooropa seperately, or just done it better. They made it seem like an accessory, when really it's a whole "album" in itself. They should've either given it its own reissue box, or do something like a ZooTV box instead of an Achtung Baby box, where they'd include all of the Zooropa B-sides as well, and perhaps two different concert DVD's, one from 92 and the Sydney show, or maybe something else like the Adelaide show.
Either way, I'm still happy with what we're getting. I wasn't expecting to get something miraculous and that would please us diehard fans to the fullest, so I'm not completely let down. Don't get me wrong, I would've loved to get something better, and by better I mean what we SHOULD be getting (A bootleg show, yadda yadda yadda) but there's no point in crying over spilt milk. Buy it if you like it, don't if ya don't. I completely support anyone who's boycotting it to send U2 a message, but I'm still psyched to get my uber set
This is of course, just my opinion.

P.S Rummy, I'm also super psyched to see the new movie. Guggenheim won't disappoint, and I'm pumped to see the material.

Dont get it.I love U2,but this release seems useless to me.Nothing live from the great 1992 tour ? ! No rare tracks ? ! AB and Zooropa, not REMASTERED ? !!!Then why bother ? Why is Zooropa even included ?
Fuck it,dont get it.Im not.By not buying it,will speak volumes to this band. You dont "have" to buy it cause its U2.Its a lazy money grab. And worse, they didnt bother to make it a great remastered rerelease.
I bought the deluxe remasters from the 1980s from U2,and like them alot.But,in truth,they are very overpriced.UF super deluxe,2cd/dvd when released 2 years ago,was $69.99.Its a beautiful set,but that price is madness.I bought it,this year,for $30 on Amazon.I just checked today,its listed at $31.04.A very good price.
Look at Pearl Jams remastered re-releases of Ten,Vs and Vitology. They are,of course, remastered, have extra tracks, and live material.
Ten (deluxe 2cd/dvd edition),released last year.CD 1 is remastered.CD 2 remastered AND remixed,plus 6 bonus tracks.DVD of the unreleased 1992 MTV unplugged performance.The price...$29.99
Vs/Vitology (3 cd deluxe edition) released this year.CD1 VS remastered,plus 3 bonus tracks.CD2 Vitology,remastered,plus 3 bonus tracks.CD3 unreleased live show from Boston,04.12.94,16 tracks.PLUS an mp3 download,from the 10 club,of 6 live tracks,not included on the live cd,from the same Boston gig.So thats 3 cd's,plus a 6 song mp3 download for......$37.48.Not bad huh.
That,is how you treat a re-release.Remastered,rare live and unreleased tracks. AFFORDABLE.Wait a while for the AB release. The price, after the holidays, will drop bigtime.

Depeche Mode were recently approached by the U2 camp to contribute a track to an upcoming U2 covers collection, supposedly accompanying a re-issue of “Achtung Baby”. And so it was that Depeche Mode ended up recorded their version of U2′s “So Cruel”. The track, recorded in Santa Barbara and New York is produced by Depeche Mode’s very own Martin Gore, with lead vocals by Dave Gahan. Sie Medway Smith was on hand with engineering and mixing.
