    So it depends on the uploader eh? Thats why some bootlegs are only 192 kbps

    and? If you were big into audio you would be downloading lossless
  8. Gerard said it all. The only thing that notices the difference between 192 and 256 and 320 kbps is your hard disk.

  10. Not really, lossless is overkill, V2 LAME is transparent to people without superhuman hearing abilities.

  12. Not really, I have decent speakers. Even the audiophiles on the Hydrogenaudio forums will say that v2 (and definitely v0) LAME VBR is transparent to the vast majority of people out there.

    You should do a double blind ABX test and see if you can tell the difference.

    And if a VBR MP3 gets you 99% identical to the lossless at 20% of the file size, I know what i'll take.
