First off, I'm going to have to explain the whole scenario. A band called You Me At Six are playing 2 nights in Edinburgh on the 7th & 8th. It was originally going to be on the Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th December but it got postponed due to the severe weather conditions. So the Saturday got rescheduled to Friday 7th January & the Sunday got rescheduled to the Saturday 8th January.

Me and a friend purchased a ticket off of a person we know. She said it was going to be on the Saturday which would be fine. But it turns out she got confused, and the ticket was for the rescheduled Friday date. The thing is, I cannot make it for the Friday so I stood there for 5 minutes deciding if I should just take the ticket. I took the risk. I figured out that I could probably get in with the ticket on the Saturday. I could just say to the security (who rip the ticket to confirm you're going in) that I got confused, or couldn't make, or any other bullshit reason.

So I now sit here very worried incase I don't get in. I've payed £16.50, which is alot of money to risk. I really want to go, but I don't know why the hell I bought it in the first place. It would be very embarrassing to get rejected entry in front of loads of people.

What should I do? Should I take the risk and go for it? What reason should I use? I need help on this. I'd be grateful if anyone could help me with this. Thanks.

Well you kinda have to take the risk unless you can sell the ticket, I'd say go for it though. Just pick the friendlier looking security guys
  2. Yeah, if you bought a ticket, they might just let you in. In line of tons of people, they're just ripping and letting you go, making sure you've got a full ticket etc. The only problems would be...

If the ticket has a barcode, and they're scanning it to get you in, the scanner will reject it and bring it to their attention.

If the venue ISN'T standing room only, and actually has seat numbers associated with the tickets, you're screwed- they can't put two people in one seat.

I know You Me At Six though, and they seem like the kind of band that would play a GA club.

I say take the risk and risk the embarassment- you might get in and have the time of your life, and if not, you might get a great story out of it.
  3. Oh yeh, forgot bout it might being seated. That could be dodgey

I've been to that venue about 3 times before for concerts and they rip the ticket, they don't scan it, so that'll be fine.

    It's a standing room only.

Thanks very much for the help guys. I figured that a few people will be doing that anyway since it was rescheduled and they might have plans. So they would end up going on the other night.
  5. No problem Kieran, have fun! Hope they play The Consequence

  6. Yeah, it was tonight and I got in!!!

The woman who checked the ticket first didn't notice (as I had my finger over the day & date). The second woman who ripped the ticket never noticed too. Although, it did take her a while to rip the ticket. Thought she was going to find out and chuck me out

Overall, great night. You Me At Six weren't the best band there though. The Blackout were. They were one of the support bands and they crowd were absoutely NUTS! There was a circle pit which turned into the biggest mosh pit I've ever experienced. You Me At Six were disappointing to start off with. They started with Save It For The Bedroom which was a dreadful starter. It got really good when The Consequence came on, which should have started the set. They finished with Underdog which was a good ending. Almost caught the guitarist's pick too. Ah well, great gig!
  7. Glad that you got in and had a good time man, definitely worth the risk anyway
  8. Where's Drew?

You said that MJ excelled in the 90's. I'm not a MJ fan so I don't know many song titles and album names. What was the albums that had Man In The Mirror and Black Or White because they are truly excellent songs. If I'm correct Man In The Mirror is from Bad and Black Or White is from Invincible

    I'm right here.

Dangerous has Black Or White and Bad has Man In The Mirror. Both albums followed each other (1987 - 1991). Invincible was his last album all the way back in 2001.

I don't think on those (Bad, Thriller or Dangerous) he honestly showed the skills he did have. History has some incredible arrangements on it.
